Can you name a circumstance he addresses that doesn’t apply to the Gideons?

Exactly – he mentions the Christian League by name, but most everything else seems like it would apply to the Gideons as well.

Well…isn’t that what Christians are supposed to do…spread the word of God…didn’t Jesus say in Mark 16…go into the whole world and preach the good news to all creation…so why aren’t we Catholics doing that instead of complaining about the Gideons handing out the word of God

Hey, some of us Do do that. Preaching the gospel – and even handing out Catholic bibles – is a good and holy thing. But handing out Protestant bibles is much murkier territory.

That is good to hear…now if you can motivate the rest of us Catholics to have the same zeal for proclaiming Gods word to the world…everyone will be Catholic…God bless you and your evangelizing

Fundamentally, everyone should have their own Bible, whether complete or incomplete (New Testament.) I know someone who works for an organization that is constantly working on new translations for languages most of us have never heard of.

No, I didn’t confront the guy nor tell him about his shortcomings. That’s a stretch. I opened a conversation about Catholic beliefs as this organization is clearly at a Catholic campus. I have no problem with telling the Good News. And yes, they do confront students directly in their paths; three or four of them at a time.

Just anecdotes like the original poster.
