Gift ideas for third time mom

A good friend of mine just had her third baby. I’d like to get her something but I don’t think she needs baby clothes or blankets, which are usually my go-to gifts. I regularly babysit for her and frequently offer to babysit more, so that doesn’t quite seem like an appropriate gift. Any ideas? I’m looking for something in the $30-$50 range.
 
You can get her mugs with her children’s names on them? Or shirts that say, “Thing One” , “Thing Two”, and “Thing Three” for her children? 🙂
 
Instead of buying something for baby, why don’t you buy something for mom?
 
offer her your time to help her with chores, running errands or babysitting so she can do chores or run errands. Make her food! esp. if she is breastfeeding!

I received this as a gift for the first 3 months after the birth of my 3rd - and it is the only gift that I can even recall to this day aside from the crochet baby blanket that my neighbor made my newborn baby.
 
How about making a “diaper cake” for her? It’s cute, you can keep your spending down if you make it yourself, you can add in other small items/gifts in the center or as decorations if you like, and diapers come in very handy! 😉 If she uses cloth diapers, it will probably need to be a smaller “cake” to keep your costs down, but still cute and useful.

I also like the idea of buying a gift for Mom. Maybe a “mother’s necklace” with her children’s birthstones or names on it? Or a gift certificate to a restaurant she really likes.

Or, if she’s more practical, just ask her if there is anything specific she needs or wants. 🙂

You’d be surprised about the baby clothes. My third was a winter baby my other 2 were summer babies. My oldest boy was 8.3 ounces and the baby was a 2.13 preemie, who is still somewhat slight. I wasn’t able to use a great number of my older one’s clothes for the baby.

I think a little outfit would be appreciated.

I received a blanket embroidered with baby’s name. That’s a nice gift as well.
 
I like to give a laundry basket with diapers, wipes, baby wash, lotion and other consumables.

For one friend, I gave a donation in the family’s name to a local pregnancy center. 👍
 
Baby clothes may still be very useful if her babies have been born in different seasons. If all of your 0-3 month clothing is cold winter months, but baby was just born in July, then they’re a little useless to you. 🙂 Also, diapers are a huge help if they are using the disposable kind. You can never have enough, but be sure to give a gift receipt with them. That way, if you buy size N (for newborn) and baby has moved into size 1, mama can still swap them out for the right size as long as the package hasn’t been opened yet.

Otherwise, you could consider helping mama through the other two children. Are either of first two kids still in the toddler age? If so, it may be difficult for the toddler to occupy themselves while mama is nursing/feeding the baby. Toddler Busy Bags are a great do-it-yourself gift that puts some entertaining and educational items together to keep the toddler busy while mom feeds the baby.
