You said she likes to read . . . if she hasn’t read the Anne Of Green Gables series, you could get that. —KCT

Hi,

How about a teen bible. My 13 year old daughter only wants gift cards. If you are not sure what she likes I highly suggest a gift card at this age.😃

Thirteen year old girls LOVE to shop so they LOVE gift cards–that way they get to SHOP for their own gift.

If she has an I-Pod, then consider a gift card for I-Tunes so she can download music (at about $1 per song).

A gift card for Amazon.com is great for books (often discounted) and other things too. Amazon gives free shipping for orders of $25 or more so a giftcard of $25 means no shipping charge.

For clothes, girls love Aeropostale which are at most malls and sells tee-shirts, jeans, and similar teen stuff. “Aero” has great sales. Old Navy is another teen clothes shop that can be found at most malls.

Ask her mom what her favorite store is. Kohls and Target are also favorites for 13 year old girls.

Gift cards are definitely the way to go.

Target, Best Buy, iTunes, Gap, Half Price Books, any bookstore, Chipotle, her favorite restaurant (fast food or otherwise), Jamba Juice (make awesome smoothies), etc.

Depending how close you are, I would limit the religious stuff, only because my husband has a cousin who is very into her faith (Catholic). He rarely sees her, but when he does, she is always pushing religious “stuff” onto him. He is also very strong in his faith (Catholic) and finds it somewhat offensive and has really soured his opinion of her. She has apparently done this since he was small (she is about 15 years older than he is).

Have a mass said for her. She may not find it neet now but it is one of the most awsome gift you can give her.

Thank you for all your suggestions. Feel free to give more – I have a younger niece as well. I ended up taking rayne89’s suggestion and got her the “Did Adam and Eve Have Bellybuttons” book. She loves to read and is smart so I don’t think it will be over her head, and I wanted to get her something with religious content that will hopefully be more of an eternal benefit.

This was after I bought The Princess and the Kiss, which a few of you commented was more for younger children. I let her mom (my sister) know about it and told her to feel free to re-gift it.

My oldest daughter is turning 13 on the 7th. She is getting a new coat (that she needs) and some boots (that she wants). She is also getting a teen study Bible that she found at our Catholic bookstore. She actually asked for it! I almost fell over.
But for other kids, there are lots of cool Catholic gifts at this web site cool2bcatholic.com/. My kids got the messenger bags for Easter and they love them.

Did Adam and Eve have Bellybuttons is an EXCELLENT Book. My lil sis and I love it!

I’ve seen a number of teens and a few adults (who can fit the sizes) wearing these Catholic clothes from my parish. They are popular with teens without being too “cute from Grandma.”

I 2nd the Amazon gift card idea also. I’ve always been a huge reader and at 13 I would have loved being able to order any book that I wanted. I read practically the entire public library branch.

Quality jewelry is also huge. I received a plain gold bangle from my grandma that I wore until my hands got too big, but I still have it in my jewelry box. I still wear the pearl necklace that I got around the same age.

Any ideas?
Gift certificate to go clothes shopping. In my personal experiences, I hated it when people bought me gifts at that age because there’s nothing I wanted more than to get some new cool clothes. 😃
