The Girl Scouts deleted a tweet late Wednesday congratulating Justice Amy Coney Barrett for being the fifth woman named to the Supreme Court after social media backlash primarily from the left, with the decision to delete the post also sparking outrage.

“Congratulations Amy Coney Barrett on becoming the 5th woman appointed to the Supreme Court since its inception in 1789,” the 108-year-old organization wrote in a tweet that included pictures of the four other women to sit on the high court: Sandra Day O’Connor, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.

“We are neither red nor blue, but Girl Scout GREEN. We are here to lift up girls and women,” it continued. “If you would like to debate partisan politics-keep scrolling.”

Backlash from progressives, including from Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.), quickly ensued, prompting the deletion.

After the posts were deleted, the organization received additional backlash for bowing to what many described as a social media mob, with journalist Megyn Kelly calling the decision “pathetic.”

And what does it say to Christian girls in the Girl Scouts? That if you are devoted follower of Christ and his teachings you are not worthy of being an extraordinary or exemplary woman? Bizarre how these so called “feminists” are the first to tear down the achievements of women and discourage girls.

I don’t see why it wouldn’t be.

It’s showing as an example to girls that a woman can become a respected jurist and a member of the Supreme Court.

They included pictures of Ginsburg and Sotomayor as well; no one said that was endorsing any of their beliefs.

Typical MO. Slap a pro choice sticker on your bumper along with a " celebrate diversity", “coexist”, or similar sticker along side it and then reveal your intolerance/hypocrisy when anyone thinks for themselves instead of embracing the indoctrination of leftist teachers.

They hate democracy and their country, but want to remain here. They are wannabes communists but are afraid to be a real one.

The Girl Scouts clarified that it was “not our intent” for the tweet to be viewed as a “political and partisan statement,” explaining that it is a “nonpolitical, nonpartisan organization.” A Girl Scouts USA spokesperson elaborated in a statement to Yahoo Life.

“We have a legacy of highlighting women who have risen to the top of their fields including leaders of both political parties and our judicial branch. It was in this tradition that we congratulated Justice Barrett (as we have for Justices Kagan, Sotomayor, Ginsburg and O’Connor),” the spokesperson said. “This has been construed to be a political statement, but that was not our intention and we removed the post to minimize the negative conversation. For over 100 years we have and will continue to work for equality and to break down barriers for girls everywhere and support increasing the presence of women across all levels of government.”

Girls Scouts give a lot of money to Planned Parenthood and spread a very liberal message to young girls. Why do you think Catholic parishes generally do not support local groups of Girl Scouts?
 
I had no idea. Still not a great message to young Christian girls. Very disappointing.
