You don’t sound like a jerk at all. You sound like a decent, caring bloke. I am sure you will do the right thing:thumbsup:

Thank you for that. But what do I do about her friend’s death? I just wanna end this but I’m seriously worried it would only hurt her emotionally.

To be honest, don’t wait too long. If she cares for you, it’s going you hurt her no matter how you do it or when. However, maybe waiting until a few days after the funeral might be sensative enough. Continuing to appear to be in a relationship with her when you don’t want to be isn’t doing her any favors. Let her swim free and find another fish. 👍

Breaking up with someone might cause them pain, but it doesn’t make you a jerk. This is a tricky situation, with her friend passing. On one hand I understand that you don’t want to break up with her at such a time. But on the other hand, you must be careful that she doesn’t rely on you for emotional support through this, which may only strengthen the bond she feels to you and make the eventual breakup all the more difficult. You should keep your distance from her and break it off as soon as a reasonable opportunity arises.

I’d like to ask for everyone’s prayers right now, since I’m going to take the leap and break it off tonight. I’m nervous, and I could use them. Pax!
