This from EWTN will be of general help for you in seeking to follow Christ and live as a Christian in this area:

ewtn.com/expert/answers/dating.htm

(though I would twique it a bit…for under pure intent I would add if one has begun to consent…sin already begins…I think the author intents it to be just “spontanious enjoyment/desire before any consent”)

Yes…start with confession (For example in regards to any times on thought of her naked deliberately (remember for a mortal sin one needs not only the grave matter but full knowledge and deliberate consent…all sorts of thoughts can just happen to one and be rejected without sin…but any mortal sins would need be confessed in number and kind like “impure thoughts 2x” )…the priest can help you too.

I understand, but so many young people who are trying to be good Catholics are already very very confused when it comes to sex. I mean, did you see his post?? He was saying that he became sexually aroused around his girlfriend and was asking if that was a sin! Above all else, I think he needs reassurance that this is NOT a bad thing. Of course there’s nothing wrong with going to the confessional, but when you suggest he do that, it just further confuses someone who is clearly already very confused in thinking he did something wrong by having feelings for his gf.

Just my opinion.

(And quite honestly, I think sexual attraction towards a significant other is normal in nearly every age, not just his age.)
Did you miss my post in the #2 spot? You just repeated everything that I said!! 😃 And what is so wrong with the confessional? I am an older man and I go once a week. Why shouldn’t a young man make use of this beautiful sacrament? Perhaps if only for lustful thoughts? And as a man, this is a very common sin even when I am trying to be most disciplined. I never discourage anyone from seeking this wonderful sacrament of healing… teachccd 🙂

Why does he need to confess??? He’s done nothing wrong! It’s perfectly normal and good to be sexually attracted to your significant other.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is for courage and strength. I would say the fact that he carries some guilt, hence the forum post, is why he should receive absolution and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

It is good to be physically attracted to the person you are dating. It is also really good to have such awareness and self-discipline. I wish the boys dating my daughters were this disciplined.

I would give you the same advice as the OP for both of you to go frequently to confession and Holy Communion. To say the Rosary daily and ask Our Blessed Mother to wrap you both in Her Mantle of Holy purity. Saying the Rosary daily is a powerful weapon against satan and all the evil spirits.

God Bless You Both.
