I feel like i’m always on these forums looking for answers, although i suppose thats its purpose.

I have another question: Late at night, i’ll wake up for no real reason, walk to the tv for no real reason, turn on the tv for no real reason…all these actions as if i’m sleep walking. Then as if i’m on auto pilot i stop when i see one of those girls gone wild commericials. I look at it for a second, and then turn it off, then i come back to it for two seconds and then turn it off, then i come back to it for three seconds and then turn it off, until i’m looking at it for a full 10-30 seconds. But then i realized what i was doing, and was faced with the option of continuing to look and even perhaps self gratification, or i could go to bed. I went back to sleep in my bed.

Is this is grave mortal sin? I am going to confession regardless, but just out of curiosity

Thanks again for all the help

If you weren’t aware of what you were doing it’s no sin at all. Only you can make that call. You should certinally bring it up in confession.

One important point, you said you did things for no real reason. Could this be a sign of boredom, often we commit sins because we are looking for something to do. The saying the devil makes good use of idle hands is true.

Set your TV on EWTN before you turn it off, that way when it comes on you will see something of value.

Meh, girls gone wild sucks anyway, there’s not even hardcore anal penetration. I can’t fap to that ****.

My friend, if it were me, I would consider it a mortal sin because I eventually realized that things like you describe are the near occasion of sin that lead to bigger sins down the line. What it does is weakens if not removes God;s grace and makes it much more difficult to resist the bigger temptations. I would go to confession to be on the safe side, going to confession is always good.

Kage_ar is exactly right stay away from the TV by yourself or watch EWTN. I personally only watch a little baseball or history/discovery channel type shows (besides EWTN). Same concept with the computer.
