Giver question on I Cor 14 to you

29Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. 30And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop. 31For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. 32The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets. 33For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.
As in all the congregations of the saints,

Giver, who are the others that Weigh your words? Are there any more mature than yourself or are you preaching to the choir?
 
the ‘others’ refers to all the people in the church. there should be no more than two or three people prophecying in the church at a time, and each speaks alone. if anyone in the crowd has a revalation about what is being said, they should stop the prophet and tell the rest of the crowd what is revealed. this is not limited to anyone specific. remember, God reveals to the children what he keeps from the wise.
 
Right James, my whole point is in Deuteronomy 13 warns that a prophet must teach correctly about God. Chapter 18 tells us the prophet’s prophecies must come to pass. Paul tells us in Galatians 1:8-9 that even angels can appear with a wrong message. We are to compare the message with the teachings of the apostles. In Acts 17:10-12, when Paul went to Berea to proclaim Jesus as the Messiah to the Jews, we read “these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Therefore many of them believed…”

When, in the context of a house church, I wonder if there are people more mature in Christ than Giver is to test his prophecies.
Would Giver not be better off in a mainline Pentecostal church where there are more mature believers who can prove, test his prophecies and examine his odd interpretations of scritpure?

A Prophet has a context of community, be it the nation of Isreal or the Church. A true prophet is not a big fish in a very small pond of believers.

So, Giver what is your view of the Holy Spirit? Do you see him as the third person of the Trinity?
