I know this may sound weird, but ever since a couple years ago, I’ve said to myself that when (I pray that I do) get to heaven, I’ll give God a big hug. Now I realize I’ll be there forever but will God still be able to give me a hug right there?

Hmmm this is an interesting question to say the least.

Well Jesus is God, so I Jesus in His Risen Humanity can give hugs and I hope and pray that if I make it to heaven by God’s grace, I want to be hugged by Jesus. That thought just excites me and makes me long for the time that I can be physically embraced by Our Lord and Savior, God.

As to whether the Trinity will actually hug us, well God is unlimited and Almighty, so if He wants to hug us, then you can bet your dollar He will.

It will be interesting what this thread reveals in time.

God bless.

Well, I honestly couldn’t tell you. You may be able to hug Jesus. I am sure that He is open to that type of thing. I always struggle to get my arms around God the Father, though. Perhaps a high five would be in order…

I am only kidding. I am sure that you will be welcomed with whatever your most desirable greeting of our Lord happens to be. I, too, picture myself giving a great big hug to Jesus when (hopefully) I arrive in heaven. Maybe even the entire trinity, although what that would look like I can’t say. Honestly though, this is all just speculation. If I arrive in heaven, I will be perfectly content with whatever greeting they give me.🙂

God bless!

Artist Danny Hahlbohm did a great painting titled Homecoming, which shows Jesus hugging someone lucky enough to have gone to heaven.
I saved it as a background on my computer.
I love looking at it daily.
You should be able to google the artist and have a look yourself.

God will take your intention for the deed.
Your desire to hug God is in itself a hug.
Whether or not you can hug God in the sense you mean, Andrew, you are hugging God in the sense that God means it.
The Father, the Holy Spirit, to hug them is the desire to hug them. Jesus also, but in heaven it is possible You can hug Him.

I once asked a dying nun, “Will you please hug Jesus for me?” She gave a musical laugh and replied, “I’ll give Jesus your love.”

… Now I realize I’ll be there forever but will God still be able to give me a hug right there?

👍👍👍

**LUKE 15:20 **[NAB]

🙂

I sometimes like to think of Heaven as God’s eternal embrace.

A priest was once asked what Heaven will be like. He told us to close our eyes during a public retreat; they were closed for about three seconds. He then told us to open our eyes. When we sat expectant, waiting for an explanation, he said: “well, here it is”!

When the World ends, time is made redundant, and space becomes infinite, God will live with us in this world - but perfected! Every meadow and glade and street corner from your youth will be there, but greater. All the buildings you explored and forests you got lost in will remain, albeit shining with a glorious light that was not seen before. God wishes to sanctify THIS world, THIS universe, THIS Cosmos with His great love. We don’t know why He created this material existence, other than to perfect it over the great span of time.

Waking up on the last day will be like a winter’s morning for a child, a summer’s morning for a teenager, a spring’s morning for a retired person, and an autumn’s sunrise for the quiet person. All things will be exactly as each person ever dreamed of them being, but here. The only difference will be that God’s own Throne will be established, physically, in a new city somewhere on Earth. We will be with Him, and simultaneously everywhere. Each moment will last as long as we wish, because there will be no moments at all. You may spend 5 000 years sipping wine with your best friend, and at the SAME MOMENT take a leisurely walk of 10 minutes with a crank you never really knew, but who is now healed and greater than we had ever known them.

In short: of course you can give God a hug, once we get our bodies back. Christ our Lord took on real flesh - even this crude matter - and you can bet He hugged Lazarus, his dear friend, if He cried for him.

Will I be able to give my love ones a hug when (I pray that I am) in heaven?
Thanks for all of the replies so far. Honestly I can say this is the first forum I’ve not been ragged on for asking a question. Bless you all!

Sure we all are going to have resurrected bodies. 😃

God bless.

When you hug somebody you hug God.

““The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

Mathew 25:40

I’m sure you’d be able to give your loved ones a hug, and I’d assume Jesus too 🙂 I personally think that would be amazing! as for the Holy Trinity, - we’ll be completely united with God in a way that we can’t imagine here on earth 🙂

God bless!

I don’t know about God either. However, I suspect we WILL be able to give Mary a hug. Tell me how wonderful that hug would be? I imagine it and it truly helps to keep me focused. That is truly the motivation I use to stay focused. I imagine it will be a hug beyond compare!

I hope that when my time comes, and if I can get to heaven that I can hug Jesus and Mary. Until then all I can do is pray. :gopray2:

I also have one more question that I’ve been wondering. I don’t want to start s new thread because I don’t want to get yelled at or anything. But if I die all of a sudden, and haven’t gone to a confession, will I still be able to confess my sins before I’m in Heaven.

first to hug someone they have to be REAL. so theres kind of a problem in this isnt there?
