Can a person, under torture or death treat, give information that would probably led to others be killed to save itself or to avoid extreme torture? Would this be a sin or justified?
It depends on what we mean by justified. I would say that the man still ought not divulge such information. Doing so seems to be grave matter. However, the man’s ability to think rationally and consent is impaired by the torture, so his moral culpability may be severely mitigated.
