Many people consider Wagner to be the real father of Heavy Metal music.

This is true. Wagner’s views likely weren’t all that different from a lot of other people in his era - not that that makes it okay. He just happened to write a long essay about his views, which has followed him around ever since.

However, when we start judging artists’ works on their personal opinions or personal morality, a huge number of brilliant works would have to be thrown in the dustbin.

There is nothing inherently immoral or prejudiced about a set of musical tones.

I’m sorry if I didn’t clarify my post.

I was referring to the other member’s comments too, about Wagner.

I remember having a discussion with my pastor about his music a long time ago.

I was a choir member then, and my pastor was also a musician. At any rate, he was telling me about the Anti-Semitism, which is a problem for me personally, no matter the source of it. What I mean by that is that it wouldn’t matter if the person was a composer or an author, etc.

I married into a Jewish family, so I’m really sensitive when it comes to any kinds of issues like that.
