Hi everyone,

I am really interested in biopsychosocial issues. I love sports and I am working on my masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I listened in full to the podcast Gladiator put out by the Boston Globe yesterday. It details the life and death of former New England Patriot star Aaron Hernandez. It is very eye opening, well written, and sad yet fascinating. I was wondering if anyone else has listened to it and what your thoughts are?

Thanks,

Kat

Hmmm. I have not heard it, although it sounds interesting.

I would suggest you edit your title to be more specific in your topic. (I almost didn’t read it, though I would have looked at it hours ago if it was titled differently. )

Hi! What do you recommend I use as my title? I’m new to this lol

Gladiator Podcast about Aaron Hernandez. You can edit your title by clicking on the pencil next to the title.

Do you have a link for it? You can post that here too. Either edit your first post, or just add it in another post on this thread.

I started listening and will finish tomorrow. He was a clearly disturbed man. I am amazed at how much his team was willing to overlook to have him play for them.

Hi Irishmom! It is so sad that everyone seemed to turn a blind eye to his actions and behaviors. I wish someone would have encouraged him to get some counseling. He was a “man’s man”, so I am sure he would have considered it a weakness. Aside from his mental health, I think it is important to look at his overall brain health. He never had a chance to fully develop. The whole situation is sad.
