I stopped listening to him when he said that Michael Jackson should be wearing a “collar”. And he meant it as in a “collar” that a priest wears.

Glenn Beck is a good man and a thinker. I think his stupid comments re: Catholic church reveals both his ignorance and his emotional painful past. If he were indifferent to the church he would seldom, if ever, bring it up. And someone suggested listenting to Hugh Hewitt who/whom I also like. He too was raised a catholic and is now a practicing evangelical of sorts.

Not much worse than when Sean Hannity told Mel Gibson he had been kicked out of the seminary and Mel responsded with, “Why, because you’re straight?” Even our own kind…

I really struggle with good old Glenn. I am glad to read this thread. I don’t get him on the radio but I do watch the TV show. I get stuck somewhere between thinking to myself, “Why, this man is quite brilliant” and “How can this fool be on a CNN news program?”

I like what everyone has said so far. He is definately a thinking man and it seems stunning to me that he can really believe Mormonism. Perhaps because of the trauma so early in his life, he is left with an adolescent understanding of God and the Church. Me thinks he might need to grow up his faith.

This is related, but not about Glenn Beck. When Glenn goes on vacation, i cannot STAND Mack Watson, his usual substitute. I wanted to email Glenn awhile back and tell him, “Mack’s not an idiot, but he’s also not funny. Please get someone else to fill in for you. Perhaps that nice Danny Bonaduce wag!” I was going to title the email “Pass the 'duce from the left hand side”.
Now after hearing Mack yesterday go on a diatribe asking why virginity should be so prized, i not only concede he’s an idiot, i want to tie him up in a burlap sack and throw him off a bridge. I have no idea why Glenn lets him sub. He has none of Glenn’s heart and apparently none of his morality. And furthermore, having worked in a radio station, i can tell you that nobody working in radio knows anything about sex, premarital or otherwise. There’s a reason they work in radio, and if you don’t believe me, check out www.warroom.com and peek a gander at Jim Quinn. At least he has his hair . . .

I like Glenn, and listen to him often. I give him credit for turning his life as an alcoholic around, and making something of himself. I know he has said some things contrary to the Church, but this is talk radio, not EWTN, so consider the source. If you want to see something really anti-Catholic, watch the View. I most generally agree with him, and he doesn’t rant too much about being Mormon. And he is a real critic of political correctness.
