Either you know nothing of the population myth, or you simply were not around whenit made its "day in court - same results. The population actually levelled off, and is going up slightly - do some serious research. Furthermore, agriculture, which was then predicted to go up arithmetically, exploded. The United States alone is capable of feeding the world, particularly if we do not sideline grain for alcohol to be added to gasoline (and that one is a joke no one in politics seems to want to acknowledge, in terms of net energy). Furthermore, if Russia ever can get organized enough to get their collective agruulture practices into the last 20 years of the 20th century, it will be capable of competely outstipping the US producation. People are starving not becasue we cannot provide enough food; they are starving because the means of distribution of the food we can produce gets so screwed up by competing and coflicting political issues in the various countries. What myth. In 30 years the population has doubled. And there are plenty of people starving to death because of it.
FrDavid96;4842402My understanding is that report defined the term “likely” as 90% certainty. [/QUOTE said:and it is my experience that “likely” hoovers somewhere around the 50% mark if that. 90% certainty is not “likely”; it is near guaranteed.
FrDavid96;4842402Well said:And I have yet to see any proof that we have been able to cut through the political rhetoric to ascertain what, if any evidence we have other than computer modeling, which is notoriously inaccurate when there are too many variables. We simply have too little accurate measurements going back a sufficent time to be able to determine how the natural cycle of heating and cooling works; and we now are supposed to accept that without an accurate base from which to work, that we can determine how great the impact man has on nature?
