Glory to God

Today is Sunday. The day for the Glory of God.
I go to Mass with the intention of Glorifying God , in company of the leadership of our Shepherd, the Bishop, and the congregation.

Glory to God, what does this word, Glory, mean?
Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead to the Glory of God.
And when told Lazarus, His good friend , was very ill

He said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”

What do these words mean. Glory and glorifying.

How do we give Glory to God.

I’ve always thought of glory as “showing forth the greatness or magnificence of God.” Don’t know if that Webster’s definition, but it works for me.

How do we give Glory to God.

We give glory to God by praising Him.

I’ve noticed that I can be very uncomfortable with praise, and so is our culture and even most of us in the Church.

It’s like praise is too intimate for us or something.

Maybe that’s why the Bible refers to praise being a “sacrifice”. It’s something that can even cause others to feel uncomfortable.

I’m sure the key is asking the Blessed Mother and her Spouse the Holy Spirit–the two authors of the Magnificat–for help in praising God
