I, after eating food, began to prepare more. While the food was being prepared, my conscience bothered me because I thought I might be eating while I was not hungry, but I, thinking that my conscience bothers me sometimes unnecessarily (I think it does), tried to make my conscience be quiet, and I continued allowing the food to be made. Eventually I decided not to eat the food, but was it sinful to prepare the food?

That sounds to me like a temptation that you conquered. I don’t think there was sin here, but there is nothing wrong with bringing it up in confession if it bothers you. In any case, it is certainly not mortal.

Because the thought didn’t occur until after you started preparing the food, I don’t see how it would be a sin to reason it through while continuing to prepare. You can always just put it in the fridge when you are finished!

Thank you. What if I had the thought before starting to prepare the food but possibly thought that it was just my conscience being too sensitive to something which was not really a problem? I do not think I remember exactly when I first had the thought that I should not eat.
