Sometimes, we think that we can just “go straight to the source” and ask God for all your need without the need of asking Virgin Mary and the Saints in Heaven?

God places Virgin Mary and the Saints in our spiritual lives for a reason as same as how He chose His apostles/disciples to work with Him when He walked on Earth.

Why did Jesus care to have the need from His apostles/disciples’ help in proclaiming the Gospel. He is God, He could’ve done it all! He could’ve been all over the earth 2000 years ago to perform miracles and to teach.

Jesus wants the disciples to be part of His plan in forgiving and dying for our sins . In the same way, He wants Virgin Mary and the Saints to be part of helping us closer to God. 2000 years ago, He granted His disciples to perform miracles; up until now, He allows the intercession of the Saints for the same purpose.

After all, God has put our loved ones in our lives for a reason - to love them, to help them, and to be helped by them. He doesn’t say “you don’t need all the people whom I place in your life”.

All is for the glory of God.

I’ve heard Fr. Corapi exactly once, and he was speaking about Mary. He said many people tell him they prefer to go straight to Jesus. He says, fine, you go straight to Jesus, I’ll go with Mary, and we’ll see who gets there first!

That made a big impression on me.
