God and Country; Serving Each, Both

Serving God and Country is not an American idea. It apparently is a transfer from European Nobility, whose Stated Calling in Catholic Europe was to God, in Clergy :nun1: , or ‘country’ in Civilian or Military capacity :knight1: . Doing Lord’s work was Always Top Priority. The famed misrepresented here ‘Knights save Fair Maidens’ is opposite of Traditional Knighthood call of Noblesse Oblige, to save, help the the most in Need of help, like rescuing combaty brothers, etc.
My Late Aunt, Born Austrian Countess, was Socially presented to European Society at the Court of St James Debut, London. She informed me of The Callings of Nobility, to Serve God or Country, trying to each, both.

There have been Many Political Postings about recent National Politiscians Who Served in Combat, and those who Avoided war, uncommonly, but then initiated questionable wars like Iraq.

This is Off-Topic, but critically important. (1) Gore and Kerry both Volunteered for Armed Forcers, And to Serve In Viet Nam, Kerry for among most dangerous: Riverine Patrol.
(2) Mil Regs were Violated in George W Not having been Ordered to Viet Nam Combat Duty for Never serving in Weekend Guard the last 18 months of Obligation. High level strings were pulled to keep him Out of being Ordered to Serve in Combat zone. News documented 2000 and previously. Perhaps a new thread of Service to God, Country is appropriate. My Forebearers Served Both for Centuries. Am Begining That new Thread.

Wasn’t the definitive Word on our Public Obligations by God Himself:
Give unto Ceaser that which is Ceaser’s; Give unto God that which is God’s

In my outside the box opinion, we have Moral Obligation to pay Taxes, and serve Country as necessary (on Jury, Learning issues and voting, Armed Forces, PTA, etc, etc; And Serve God in evangelizing, Living our Faith publically, Supporting our Parish and Church with our volunteer time and money.

I am currently a member of the Community-Based Warrior Transition Unit (CBWTU) after aggravating a previous injury while serving in Kuwait and Iraq. I was medevaced out of Iraq after only 2 1/2 months overseas.

God and Country! I believe they go together and are in the right order. I also believe we need to pray for others who live in countries where they can’t say that - Arab countries who follow Islamic laws where the Christian faith is outlawed and persecuted and China where the Christian faith is prohited or greatly restricted.
