God and other religions

Ok. We’re all God’s creatures and thus are created dependent on him, we need his mercy to be good, loving, faithful etc. And I need God’s mercy to pray so he can give me strength to be good, loving, faithful etc. Now, as a Christian this is clear to me how it works within the Catholic Church, or even other Christian denominations. I believe there’s Holy Spirit working both in the Catholic Church and say in the Greek Orthodox Church, as they are both Christian.

Now, how can Muslims, Hindus, atheists etc, be good when they don’t pray the right way (say Hindus as polytheists) or don’t pray at all? How they can love others if we receive love from God and were distributing that that God gave us. We don’t have love on our own. How is it possible there are good non-Christians? Can you explain this to me… It could be this is a stupid question, but I’m not ashamed to ask. Thank you all!

From what I understand, if one has been introduced to the Christain faith, they are indebted to follow and practice to stay in Gods grace. If one has never heard of the faith or learnt it, they will be judged on their personal behavior.

Does God gives his grace to those that aren’t Christians? If so, then you don’t need to be a Christian to be saved. A lapsed Catholic can still do good deeds, and for that you need God’s grace, right?
 
God has put a certain amount of goodness and love in everyone’s heart, no matter the religion, which enables us to do good deeds. Christian love, agape love, is a step beyond the basic goodness that God has instilled into all of us. It is a higher, unselfish love that we have because we know Jesus.
 
A lapsed Catholic will be judged much harsher bc they were taught what to do and neglected to do it. Stay in Gods grace with the Eucharist, confession, and prayer and all will be well. The combination of these is supernatural.
As for other faiths, I can’t speak specifics. Thre is very specific information/teachings on this. For other Christians, it will depend on their faith. All others will depend on life behavior.

Hello. It is my understanding from the scriptures that God loves all humanity without distinction regardless of race, religion, nationality or gender.

I believe that to God, the most favoured is the purest in heart according to Jesus.

Doesn’t Jesus say that the pure in heart shall see God? Mat. 5:8

Maybe so. If the Catholic faith and belief system turns out to be true. And even then it could depend on how well they were taught and if they truly knew the Catholic faith was the true faith. And if they were taught but had doubts or did not fully believe and did not remain in the faith, in that case whether or not they truly knew or not could even be debated. It’s probably best just to let it all sort out and let God read hearts and minds and souls rather than us humans judging on earth who will or will not be judged harsher.
 
Yes, that’s always a safe bet: “Judge not lest thou be judged.”
 
This is exactly what certain Jews believe, which can be summed up by the phrase “having a Jewish heart.” I disagree with this idea whether it comes from Jews, Christians, or people of any other religion. We are ALL equally capable of goodness and love. We all were graced with a human heart.

I have no doubt there are good people in all religions and that God in His mercy and goodness has provided for all of us.
 
Just because someone is not Christian does not exempt them from being good, loving and any other positive attributes any Christian has.

Not praying the same way you do also does not automatically equate to praying wrong; it’s just not the same as yours.

There are many paths to the same light.
