God Answer My Prayer

Dear God,
Ive always been good prayed for people when they need help prayed for friends when they are feeling down. As you know I am diagnosed with schizophrenia and had people pray for me so I can feel better. My father got in a car accident 8 years ago and has been on disability ever since… He was forced to go back to work to pay for my medicine. Its really hard on him. He has been fighting for his money from the insurance company and just today he had a court date so he could get his money. He didn’t get his money… The clinic has been giving me samples for a while now. I’m greatful for the samples of the medicine so that my dad didn’t have to pay for them, but the clinic is done giving samples and this medicine was worth 200$ for 20 pills of only 5mg and I’m on 25 MG now. Ive made a goal board of all my goals I wanted to achieve and prayed for them everyday for my perfect and happy life with my beautiful girlfriend/wife. I’m loosing faith in you…

**Alex, I am Schizophrenic also.
I will pray for you. I take $1000 of medication a month.

I am on SSDI so most of my medication are covered.

Do you qualify for state insurance??? My medication is covered. There has to be a way. Check to see at your local social security office if there is state insurance you can qualify for because of your disability, I’m sure there is one.
 
Am praying for you, and that you get the help you need, and for your dad who needs prayers too.

I got my mother to talk to my dad about plans ect. We are trying to work something out.
Would someone whos 17 and 18 in april be able to qualify for disability? Would disability cover my medication costs? and worst case scenario living costs if I can’t keep up a job?
Any information would be great 🙂
 
Oh Alex I am so sorry to hear that you are not able to easily get your medications.Im afraid I do not understand the US system so i cannot help in directing on that but i hope others can.I can & will continue to pray that you get the help you need my friend.

Dear Lord You know of Alex’s plight and of his father and mother.I ask You would guide them to know where to get the help they need especially to afford the medication necessary for Alex.Please surround him with Your love and may he feel comforted.Please send Your Holy Spirit upon him that he will be guided and protected by Your love.Lord in Your mercy hear our prayers for Alex and all his family Amen

If you have a Catholic Community Services in your area try there. They can help advocate for you and steer you toward the assistance you need. If not CCS, then try your Church. Maybe you have a Social Concerns ministry or even the priest or a deacon can help. There’s always someone at a parish that knows how to get things done - you just have to connect with them and then you’ll be on track.

Oh, I am SO sorry you are going through so much trouble!!!

Curious. Has your family tried to get federal or state assistance for you?

With a dx. of schizophrenia, you should be able to at the LEAST get state aid, I’d think?

My mother suffered from schizophrenia, so I can well understand your frustration.

Perhaps your doctor would know who would be able to help you get assistance?
 
My next meeting with my doctor is in a few weeks I think. My mother wants me to go to school really bad but I’m so far behind I should be in grade 12 this year with all my friends if I never got hosipitalized. Now I have to finish some grade 10 classes. and I can’t take a full day because I’m always tired and my brain stops learning after a while and I will get a headache after a while of being in class.

I’m trying to stay positive out of all of this. But anti-psycotics have worse side effects then Schizophrenia. The only medicine that really works for me that doesn’t have weight gain can kill me. It says I can get pernament muscle movements. I had to stop my last medicine because I actually started to get muscle movements. I have confusion and stiff muscles on my medicine and it says there are documented cases of coma and death.

I read up on doctoryourself.com/review_hoffer_B3.html this and just recently got my mother to get me some “flush free” niacin to see if it helps. I read up on this a while ago and my doctor wont let me try niacin and mega vitimen doseing instead of the life threatening medicine. He says I will go right back to the hosipital…

All other medicine has weight gain and I got slim for once in my life with a lot of work then when I was hosipitilized they put me on medicine that made me loose it all.

For all I know maybe god is saving me from death from this medicine by making it so we can’t afford it.

And its official today my dad told me we have to move. I really like this house and enjoy having all my friends over for get-togethers every weekend in my basement.

My dad has resulted in buying lottery tickets today I saw 3 scratched off tickets on the table…
My moms telling me not to worry. This doesn’t really affect her tho because shes with her new boyfriend shes been with for a long time that just so happened to get in his own biking accadent and he got his settlement of something like 400 thousand. When I got told my dads only getting offered 25 thousand and hes been waiting 8 years and has been through 3 huge operations.
Nothing against her or him.
Something just doesn’t seem right it was an old lady that drove into him… I just found out today that she died in the crash. Please say a prayer for her.

I will get back to you all as soon as I get some more information.

Ah, yeah, geeze…some meds used for the illness you have have wicked bad side effects, as I am sure you have already experienced.

My mother was pretty fortunate…later in her life she had to take medicine (Cogentin) to counteract the tardive dyskinesia she had from the medicine…(she took Mellaril and Elavil forever…)

There’s another potentially fatal side effect of these meds called neuroleptic malignant syndrome…Is that what you are concerned about? That’s a possible but uncommon side effect…

Even as a teen…your parents should be able to get SSI for you, but the process is somewhat hard, you might want to try to get a professional to help you out.

Perhaps you can ask your doctor where you can get help with that? Just a thought.
 
Oh my goodness Alex so much going on and your medication issue too.I continue to pray that
your medication issues will be met.I know how anxious you must feel about moving when you feel so settled in your home.Hopefully you can still keep in touch with your friends even if you have to move.I can imagine the strain this must be putting on your father also.You are all in my prayers God bless you alex

After years of battling severe bipolar disorder, I finally got on social security disability. Medicare only covers my medicines if they run over $300 a month or something, which luckily I don’t have to pay because my doctor keeps me in samples of the more expensive things. At first they covered all of them; I don’t remember why they changed it.

Also, about social security disability (not SSDI but the other thing) the amount of money I am receiving is based on credits for my work history. I’m not sure how they would figure it in your case, but you might want to ask for – if you haven’t already – a statement from social security. You can get information about requesting a statement at secure.ssa.gov/apps6z/isss/main.html

Also, my healing went hand-in-hand with spiritual development. If you haven’t gotten into any practices such as contemplative prayer, etc. then I think you might have an avenue to explore. As your pastor if there is a good “Spiritual Director” in your area, and get hooked up with him. The healing one can receive from the Divine Therapist (a.k.a. the Holy Spirit) can be deep and convincing; your spiritual director should be able to help you open yourself for the Lord to give you such healing.

Dearest Saint Therese, you are the Little Flower of Jesus. Pray this day that Alex may be made well in body, mind, and spirit. Help him always see, as you so clearly did, that our sufferings and trials are meant to cleanse and purify us so that I may receive God’s unending love.

Have faith Alex. God is always with us.

The clinic has agreed to give me more samples and my dad is getting a plan very soon.
I have a meeting at my school to discuss my classes this year. Hopfully I can do very well this year 🙂 As for the disability I don’t need to worry about that because my dads getting a plan called “trillium”
