Hinduism is considered the oldest living religion. Why are we convinced Hinduism is not true? Where was the Trinity before Judaism?

Trinity before Judaism? Judaism does not subscribe to the idea of a triune God!

From lack of comprehension, and a narrow vision. Hinduism and Christianity can be compatible when one breaks free of the religious equivalence of ethnocentrism. Not many do that, because hey, what’s the point? I’ve got my neighborhood church. I don’t need theirs, right? I don’t need to know about them because they’re not here. They’re way over there doing weird things, right?

Why are we convinced Hinduism is not true? True compared to what, what is your definition of “true” as you are using it. It is “true” that it exists. It is “true” that it is the 3rd largest religion in the world. It is “true” that the majority of believers live in India. It is “true” that it has a caste system, one caste of which are the “untouchables”, which are left to die in the streets - Read Luke Chapter 16 verses 19-31 to see how JESUS address such a behavior. It is “true” that Mother Teresa spent her whole life caring for these untouchables. It is “true” that there is no “founder”. It is “true” that it believes in reincarnation. It is “true” that it has many deities.

Where was the Trinity before Judaism? The TRINITY is, was, and always will be as in “Glory be to the FATHER, THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT, as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be”. So, before Judaism the TRINITY was in heaven.

I don’t know what the questions asking, I mean,
There was God in the beginning, then he made man, then they were expelled from the Garden of eve, and there was Judaism. If you consider ‘Judaism’ as belief in Hosanna before Christ, then Judaism was there since the beginning.

I’m not arguing that I think Hinduism in particular is the true religion, I’m just saying it has existed longer than Judaism. What saying is…God has always existed and has no beginning or end. Humans came into existence at some point in time, before Judaism. So how did people worship the True God before Judaism?

Read about Hinduism bub. Read about Judaism.

Hinduism cannot be the “worlds first religion” because other mythologies and faith traditions have existed amongst indigenous peoples for example for long before then. And hindus are all theologically very different and stuff like that.

Alright let me see if I can try to articulate myself more accurately.

What was the true religion of God’s people before Judaism?

The mindset of your first question is rooted in the idea of argumentum ad antiquita (I think that’s the phrase), where you argue something is more right because of how old it is.

The second question can simply be answered: yes. The Persons in the Trinity are co-eternal and co-existent.

"In the beginning, when GOD created the heavens and the earth . . . Then GOD said: “Let US make man in our image, after our likeness…” " Book of Genesis

Answer: The true religion before Judaism was a direct and personal “walk in the garden in the cool of the evening” relationship with GOD HIMSELF by Adam & Eve our first parents. And it is the goal of this “personal relationship” for each human to establish with GOD, which is a professed goal of Christianity.

And the “…US…” as referenced above from the Book of Genesis is THE TRINITY.

Alright thanks you guys…

I wasn’t trying to make an anti-Christian argument or anything. It was just something that perplexed me. But I think I understand now.

No problem 👍 Nothing wrong with questions. 😃

God has chosen to reveal himself in stages. Even now he has not revealed everything to us - although Apostolic dogma says all that will be revealed before the end has been.

Christianity, Judiasm and Islam = motheistic = believing in one Almighty, Omniscient, Omnipotent God, Creator of all that is seen and unseen.

Although Hindus are monotheists at heart; they believe in one High God - Brahman, who rules over the world with the aid of many *lesser gods. *

*As stated in a previous post, God Triune revealed Himself to Adam and Eve, His creation. He rejected Kain’s grain offer and accepted Abel’s meat offering. He communed with the ancients as can be seen in Genesis. He told Noah 600 years before the flood to build an ark. He seperated peoples at the Tower of Babel. *

*He was known by the Chaldeans - Abraham moved away from his home town to a new promised land on God’s instructions. Abraham met the righteous Melchizedek, priest and king in Salem. = Monotheism before the advent of Judaism. *

*Judaism = Abraham = establishment of God’s chosen people from whom the Messiah would come for the salvtion of the world. “*For God so loved the world, that He sent His only begotten Son”.

*Hindu beliefs that are contrary to the revealed knowledge of the one True God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. *
God was before these dogma were declared;

Brahman: The all-pervading selfexistent power, the cosmic unity.
Atman: The essenc or principle of life: reality in its individual forms, as distinct from brahman.
Maya: Literally ‘illusion’; this world is neither real nor unreal.
Advaita: Only one reality exists. All one. A strict form of this belief called ‘monism’, was taught by the Vedanta philosopher, Shankare.
Dharma: Moral and religious duty.
Karma: Literally ‘action’: the inexorable moral law of cause and effect governing the future; bad actions lead to rebirth in the lower orders, perhaps as an animal; good actions led to rebirth in the higher orders, perhaps as a priest.
Samsara: The bondage of life, death and rebirth, governed by the law of karma.
Moksha: Literally ‘release’; liberation from the continuous round of rebirths.
Bhakti: Devotion or worship offered to a single deity. Liberation by faith as dinstinct from liberation by works or knowledge*.*
Thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ that He died **once for ALL. **Thanks that we may be called sons and daughters of the Almighty. Thanks that we have constantly living inside of us, the Holy Spirit, received from the Father and the Son at baptism. Thank you Holy Spirit that You lead us not in temptation, but deliver us from every evel.

Especially thank you that we do not have to fear being born over and over again and again and again, perhaps because we were aborted???.

Where was the Trinity before Judaism?
Hi thirdworld: Great thread. Yes, there are many correlations. The Hindu Trinity is called the Trimurti, and still is for Hindus. The three aspects of God:

-Brahman: The creative aspect of God

-Vishnu: The sustaining aspect of God. This aspect often takes on human form - Ram, Krishna, Jesus, ect.

-Shiva: the destructive aspect; being that there is a finite amount of matter in the universe, so to make new things, old things must be destroyed to make the new things. That is why there is mutability in all physical things.

The Hindu version of the Holy Spirit is Prana or God’s creative energy within the causal world or within nature (prakriti).
