Hi i justed wanted to share how i feel and just say a little prayer. im sorry if this is in the wrong section .

Dear God ,
i really missed my dad who left my mom when i was 12 and lived in the states . just before my major primary school exam. i prayed really hard for him to come back but those prayers were never answered . the same year on christmas i recieved a present from him . i know this might seem over sensitive but upon seeing that it was some chinese present i was furious i threw the toy away . i knew it was not from my dad but the woman he left my mom for. recently he came back , he brought his new wife with him . he wanted to bring us to malaysia for a day and drive back to singapore . i was elated . at last i could spend time with my dad . my mother and sister were both against it . but in the end my sister and i went for the trip . i enjoyed myself despite having to travell and even talk to the woman who destroyed my family . just this morning my dad went back to the states i really missed him . i hope god will answer my prayer and bring him back. im sure mom will forgive him no matter what . PLEASE COME HOME DAD !

Oh, honey…

I want you to think about something: the ‘woman who destroyed your family’ did not do so alone…I wasted a lot of time blaming the woman my father left my mother for (I was 6 at the time) until I realized that BOTH of them had committed the sin.

Your prayer was answered - it was not the answer you wanted, but it was answered.

My father stay ‘married’ to my stepmother for 35 years. He regretted his decision to leave my mother every single day. At the end of his life, because of the wonderful CATHOLIC way my mother had raised his children, he had a relationship with the children he left behind. While his relationship with my brother and sister was not the best, with me (the only practicing Catholic left) he had the daughter he needed, rather than the one he wanted. I was priviliged to watch him come slowly back to The Church…he went to Confession and received Communion 10 days before he died, unexpectedly, of a heart attack.

Continue to love and pray for him…but maybe ask God to guide him, to bring him home to the Church and always pray for his reconversion.

My prayers are with you…

Of course you do…that’s normal. Remember, you have a unique opportunity. You are suffering in a way that some people will never understand. They would understand the anger and the resentment, but not the ‘I miss my DAD’ suffering people like you and I have experienced. There are some people right now getting out of Purgatory because you are united closely with Jesus in His Passion…off your prayers for them, and for the salvation of your father’s soul. Believe me, you are affecting change…
