Genesis 1:26"Let US make mankind in our image…"
Genesis 1:27 “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”
These are two Bible verses used by some denominations to prove that There are two God: God The Father and God The Mother. What do you think about it?

My initial thoughts would be:
  1. A reference to the heavenly court of God, which can be found in other OT writings. See book of Job. There’s this image of a heavenly with God and his surrounding angelic members.
  2. It’s just a use of the royal “we.”
  3. A hint of the Trinity. But, this probably wasn’t the author’s original intent. Still, the spiritual sense of Scripture can let us read it this way.
In no way can it mean more than one God.

God is pure spirit and does not have a sex. Angels don’t have a sex either and they are also in the image of God.

Peace.

God created us in His image. To me that about our heart and soul, rather then physical gender, after all we will be resurrected in glorified bodies.
