A prominent genetic scientist recently declared that we no longer need God. After all, he said, we can create people now without God’s intervention, and without all of the imperfections that God-made people have, so why do we need him?

The scientist challenged God to a people-making contest. God accepted. God said, “I made man from the dust of the ground”, and scooped up a handful of dust. “Fine”, said the scientist and bent down to scoop up some dust.

“Hey”, said God, “get your own dust!”.
And how do you know God does not intervene when you “create” another human ?

Plus creating babies is only half of the equation and not even the most improtant part. What happens after you die ? The 100 or so years that you live on earth are miniscule in comparison to the eternity that everyone hopes to have AFTER life, and IF there is no after life then what’s the point in living at all ???

God does not exist in those who reject Him. That’s what hell is. Were you trying to describe hell for us?

he does not exist
FOR YOU! He exists for me and all others who make a concious choice to place our faith in him! I am not saying you are mistaken in your belief, but you are required to allow others to belive what they will aswell.😉

he does not exist
Look at it this way. We (the readers of this forum) have vastly more evidence that God exists than that you exist. For God we see the entire universe, life, our human nature. For you we see a few characters on a screen. Which one is more likely to be random, uncaused?

he does not exist
First you have to define God. Let’s assume you mean the Christian God sine you are on a Christian forum. The Christian God knows Everything. You are human and therfore do not know everything. In order for you to be positive that God dosn’t exist you;d have to know everything.

So, dear troll, Please prove to me that you know everything.

Wow! Thank you for opening my eyes. I can totally see how you came to this conclusion. I can’t believe I have gone my whole life without seeing this.

My you really should go into the the theology business.

Again Thank you!

he does not exist
Sure, then if He doesn’t exist, than none of us do either.

Keep in mind he knows who you are and will tell you the same thing when it’s your time to be judged.

Hope God forgives you.

I made the following post on The Water Cooler/Back Fence.

Has anybody read the book “the God Theory” by Bernard Haisch ???

If so please post comments and let us discuss it.

Here is a link to the discription of the book.

It is an interesting read. Just thought I’d through this out to this thread.

Ok, so let’s assume that God does not exist.
Christian v. Aheist here.

Christian lives life believing in God, with the hope of an afterlife, to be with the one he loves most, God. What a life, full of hope and joy, thinking that one day this Christian will be in Heaven.
But the Christian dies, and there is no God, well he is dead anyways, and who cares what anybody thinks or feels about this Christian, he is worm food now, nothingness. But, he lived a life full of joy and hope, I can deal with that.

The atheist, well, where is the hope and joy the Christian felt all his life, you live hoping that death does not come soon, afraid of not living a fulfilling life, always wanting and needing more, because he lives for the moment. Mmmmm, I don’t know about that.

Also, the chances that there is a God, being an atheist, are 50-50, are these good enough odds to risk damnation over. I think I would play the lottery every day if I had those chances of winning.

he does not exist
How about some Hostess Fruit Pies?

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

I think people put more thought into this campy Hostess Fruit Pie advertisement from the 70’s than you put into your argument that God does not exist.

Indeed, you get big delight in every bite of Hostess Fruit Pies.

But I’m sure what I getting from your post.

Is it safe to say that you don’t believe in God…maybe? 🙂

You do understand, don’t you, that that was a joke? A joke in which God comes out on top? I am a devout Catholic and believe as you do.

God bless you,
Paul

I can remember it from '79 IIRC, and I’m about a year younger than you looking a your profile. It is quite a blast to see that again eh? 🙂

I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw that again. Man, I used to take comics so seriously. :o

Since the original poster has not considered it important enough to respond to the answers it may simply mean that he was a troll. Until he does respond I suppose we can choose to do anything we wish with this thread, including letting it die.

Before it does I want to remind everyone of the school of thought that Roman Catholics and perhaps all Catholics and perhaps all people ought to pick back up. Scholasticism based upon Realism was and is a very useful school of thought. St. Anselm, the father of Scholasticism, offered one argument for the “existence” of God. It’s one of many offered by the Scholastics. The Ontological argument simply states “God is the Being than which nothing greater can be imagined.”

I just thought I’d add that.
