I’d agree with this idea to a degree.
Whatever God is, it should be obvious that nobody can fully comprehend God, or understand even .01% of what God is or intends. So when you pray to “God,” you are praying through a conceptual interface-- a symbolic idea of God that you hold, and which is probably slightly different for each of us.
That’s not to say there isn’t a very real super-being who we call God. But the God you think you have a relationship with is obviously infinitely more complex than your idea of Him.
