An atheist is someone who does not believe in a higher power.

This is the same point of view held by that character which Christians call ‘God’.

But Christians would argue that God cant be an atheist since God believes that he is God.

The same Christians who say that for the Atheist, he becomes God in his own eyes.

The only difference between the YHWH Atheist and the human atheist is that the former allegedly created the latter. But for the YHWH character nobody created him. That still makes him an Atheist in his class.

Jesus → if he is really divine would be better off being an agnostic. To play safe. Who knows, a much higher power could be testing him. If Jesus can be invisible to us, then a much higher power than him could easily be invisible to jesus.

But christians would be worried by an infinite loop of creators. why should that be a problem? in the universe alone there are already many paradoxes. and we are not worried by those.

An atheist is someone who does not believe in a higher power.

believers and atheists represent 2 kinds of beliefs : positive belief and negative belief. A believer believes there is God…and atheist believes there is not. Both are beliefs about someone/something, one positive, one negative.
But Christians would argue that God cant be an atheist since God believes that he is God.

Oxford-American Dictionary:
atheism |ˈāθēˌizəm|
noun
the theory or belief that God does not exist

Your definition of an atheist is skewed.

atheism refers to not believing in a higher power from the “lower” perspective of a human. Lower v/s higher. This does not apply to God because He is not in a “lower” position so i do not see room for comparison.
Human Atheists consider themselves as the highest class of intelligence and capability.

And dictionaries doesnt mirror the limitations youve placed on atheism.

As I pointed out in the other thread, God, by definition does not believe, he knows.

I would also point out that the progression that Agnos has suggested is flawed. It suggests that Jesus is to us, as we (humans) are to animals. Well lets recognize Jesus as God to start with (because it is of course possible, as many do to recognize him as only a man or some intermediate power between God and Man (as Arians do)).

Now when we look at it this way, the progression falls immediately apart. God’s creative power is essentially boundless. His creative force is at work in all aspects of creation. Human creative force is far more limited. We didn’t create animals, God did, just as God created us.

Does YHWH have a God? No. He does not believe in a higher power. He is not a believer.

Its possible that Jesus only knows what a higher power programmed him to know. For his own sake he must still consider the possibility of being somebody else’s test subject. Otherwise he would just be as arrogant as your average human atheist. THERE IS NO GOD! NOBODY CREATED ME!!!

In terms of intelligence & productive capabilities. Its once class above another. But like what I said above, the major difference is that Jesus ALLEGEDLY created us.

I can’t believe these kinds of threads even post…🤷

an atheist, or a human for that matter, does not even understand himself, let alone considering himself the highest in intelligence…this is not called atheism anymore, this is called stupidity.

this is NOT about what one understands, but what one BELIEVES.
do you deny that atheism is a negative belief?
oh i agree with you. but do you deny that Jesus negatively believes in a higher power than him?

If an atheist claims that nobody created them, they are not only atheists, but also incredibly stupid. Even without God, humans, by definition are created beings. My mother and father certainly were co-creators of me (and I believe God was also a co-creator… thus forming an image of the trinity with my parents).

God (not just Jesus, whose human nature was created), by definition is eternal and therefore uncreated. If the divine nature of God was created, then by definition, God is not God but rather something less.

I know why you keep using Jesus, because it allows you to challenge the Catholic belief that Jesus was God. But ultimately, the most you could possibly show with that is that Jesus was both an atheist and not God. But then again, Jesus was not an Atheist because he was willing to recognize the priority of the Father. He might have been delusional (for the sake of the argument I will accept that possibility) in believing he was part of God, but he did believe in God.

Sigh, well, technically, it was God the Father acting through the Son (or the Word) that created us, not Jesus which is the name of the Son once his nature has entered hypostatic union with Man’s.

Actually, in productive capacity and intelligence, God is so far above us, that the animal human progression is still flawed. God is so far above us that a bacteria->human progression is a better analogy and even that probably dramatically understates it.

careful. that applies to jesus.

3000 years ago people have no problem believing that Gods are created. Its just a matter of changing perspectives.
I know why you keep using Jesus, because it allows you to challenge the Catholic belief that Jesus was God.
ok i’ll stick with YHWH.

The Atheist believes he is God. According to christians and some atheists. 😃
If an atheist believes he is god, then he ceases to be an athiest for he now has a belief in God.

Really, this is so childish.

Either your not very bright or you like to manipulate, in any case, I’m out.

Does YHWH have a God? No. He does not believe in a higher power. He is not a believer.
this is a flawed analogy.

God is not in the same position in the first place. Saying that God does not believe in a higher power means you take it for granted that God might question this possibilty, which is simply impossible …and which happens to be exactly the position of the atheist.

It is like accusing me of not believing in aliens when in fact i never ever entertained the idea.

this is NOT about what one understands, but what one BELIEVES.

an atheist, or a human for that matter, who BELIEVES he has the highest intelligence is not only arrogant, but is stupid…arrogance and stupidity is the worse match a human can have … a human who cannot even realize that he does not have the intelligence to understand himself yet brags of believing he got the highest intelligence is simply pathetic.
oh i agree with you. but do you deny that Jesus negatively believes in a higher power than him?
