Does becoming holy increase our value to God?

Hmmm… interesting.

If the one who said “No one is better than I am” meant that all of us are equally loved by God, then I agree. If he or she was expressing pride, then I don’t.

If by “God rewards us according to our work…And our faith…” you mean that some will spend less time in purgatory than others, then I agree. If you’re thinking that in Heaven, some will be rewarded more than others, I disagree - we will all be given the Beatific Vision. There may be a hierarchy in Heaven, since Mary is Queen; but if there is, we will all be perfectly happy with our place in it. There will be no pride in Heaven.

“Does becoming holy increase our value to God?” Of course it does, just as a productive worker is of more value to an employer than a lazy one. God doesn’t love His lazy ones any less, though.

That is always the case.

Some people increase in holiness and some in vice. Jesus says to him that has more will be given, but to him who has not even what he has will be taken away.

To say however that as one becomes holier that increases the person’s value to God is not a way to understand this. God loves everyone with infinite love. He does not give us a piece of His love. He gives all of His love and all of Himself. God is love. God can not be divided into parts.

Then why do we see some people who have more grace than others. Holiness disposes us to receive from God. It increases our capacity to know and receive His blessings.

Some people are entirely blind to or lacking in grace. They reject it. God will give you as much grace as you ask for. How much you receive depends on how you are disposed to receive.
