God is NOT as concerned with Individuals as people want to think

excaliber, the CC teaches that coming to the faith and the justification which delivers us to our final destiny is a process which involves time, like all processes. God in His mercy gives us that time and saves us while “yet in our sins and transgressions”. I believe that you’re in that process now and that your past was also part of the journey. Converts can be powerful forces in the Church and perhaps you’ll become a leader in some capacity-large or small- and help address some of the very issues you bring up. The Church, it is taught, is also involved in this process of conversion. She’s been given the privilege of receiving and proclaiming God’s truth and is at once His beautiful bride and a yet unrealized and unfinished ideal in His mind.

The Church address Her own need for continuous renewal and perfecting in the CCC:

**769 "The Church . . . will receive its perfection only in the glory of heaven,"179 at the time of Christ’s glorious return. Until that day, "the Church progresses on her pilgrimage amidst this world’s persecutions and God’s consolations."180 Here below she knows that she is in exile far from the Lord, and longs for the full coming of the Kingdom, when she will "be united in glory with her king."181 The Church, and through her the world, will not be perfected in glory without great trials. Only then will "all the just from the time of Adam, ‘from Abel, the just one, to the last of the elect,’ . . . be gathered together in the universal Church in the Father’s presence."182

820 "Christ bestowed unity on his Church from the beginning. This unity, we believe, subsists in the Catholic Church as something she can never lose, and we hope that it will continue to increase until the end of time."277 Christ always gives his Church the gift of unity, but the Church must always pray and work to maintain, reinforce, and perfect the unity that Christ wills for her. This is why Jesus himself prayed at the hour of his Passion, and does not cease praying to his Father, for the unity of his disciples: "That they may all be one. As you, Father, are in me and I am in you, may they also be one in us, . . . so that the world may know that you have sent me."278 The desire to recover the unity of all Christians is a gift of Christ and a call of the Holy Spirit.279

821 Certain things are required in order to respond adequately to this call:
  • a permanent renewal of the Church in greater fidelity to her vocation; such renewal is the driving-force of the movement toward unity;280
  • conversion of heart as the faithful “try to live holier lives according to the Gospel”;281 for it is the unfaithfulness of the members to Christ’s gift which causes divisions;
  • prayer in common, because “change of heart and holiness of life, along with public and private prayer for the unity of Christians, should be regarded as the soul of the whole ecumenical movement, and merits the name 'spiritual ecumenism;”'282
  • fraternal knowledge of each other;283
  • ecumenical formation of the faithful and especially of priests;284
  • dialogue among theologians and meetings among Christians of the different churches and communities;285
  • collaboration among Christians in various areas of service to mankind.286 “Human service” is the idiomatic phrase.

God is not a man that is limited. God is infinite in all matters, including love. To say that God is not concerned individually with us says he is limited.

Jesus said, what greater love is there but to die for your friends? A friendship is a relationship between individuals.

When he taught us to pray he told us to go into our closet and do it, not to get in a big group.

Judge not, ask, seek, knock are all individual petitions. God is very interested in a personal relationship with YOU. Every single being on Earth was created individually by God from dust. He knows all the hairs on your head.

We implore the Saints and the BVM to intercede for us. They are individuals, just like we are, praying each and everyone for individuals.

One day you will stand before the Holy One, the Price of Peace, the Mighty God and you will make an account of what you did.

I don’t have a problem finding a church where not many know me LOL…that’s all of them hehehe.
Hmm… wish i could say that… 😃
I don’t understand why I need confesion before baptism…
if you have never been baptized, you don’t… The Catholic Church does not recognize Mormon or JW baptisms…
did not need it for mass, and the eucharist is out sometimes there too.
I don’t understand… The Eucharist is not available to anyone but Catholics because the church wants us to be united on that belief… (the Real Presence)… Is that what you mean??
I understand the theology about eating christ flesh and drinking his blood…however I must admit…the talking to it…or just siting in front of it is new to me…because prayer can be done anywhere…Christ can see us anywhere…but although I don’t get it…I will try to go.
Lets hope lightning don’t hit me…LOL
Well, i am sure the devil would like to hit you with lightning before you get a chance to be with his Enemy… but he only has as much power as God gives him… so i wouldn’t worry about it… 🙂

What part of the country do you live in? City? town? NE? NW?? Just curious…

don’t want to be too specific, but i live a few states away from you (south and west)…

I was tryingto figure out whether you have access to the Blessed Sacrament or not… or i should say “easy access”…

those in the city have better access because more Churches… 🙂

Dear excaliber,

While you’re there, how about praying and asking God that if it’s true that He loves you personally with an everlasting love, that He would help you to trust Him and have faith in His love, and help you to love Him more.
just my opinion, but i feel that if he just sat with Jesus and listened, very quietly (“Be still and know that i am God”)… he wouldn’t even have to ask…

but that is coming from someone who has spent much time there… I am not where ExC is… spriitually, emotionally or otherwise… We are all so unique…

So, what’s your position now? Are you where you started, or has your mind been changed somewhat?

I am hoping that we haven’t heard from you because you went
to adoration and it was such an effective experience that you
don’t have time for this forum…
:blessyou:

Actualy I got to a point where I had to stop and think about everything that was said in the thread.
I looked not just at my life…but also other jw’s lives.

to see how God responds to the sincere acts of faith.

It is said that if you take one sincere step towards God, he takes two towards you.

but the pause was for reflection.

Only you can answer that.

You were worshipping God (who is God) as a JW only in as much as whatever it was you were worshipping then was congruent with God as you know Him from your knowledge of Him from His Church (Catholic).

no reflection in the presence of Christ???

Hmmm… :hmmm: :knight2: :heaven:
Its not so easy for a convert…I have no idea when to go for that…remember the last time the church was locked.

Its extremely hard for a convert before rica…Im gona call a church tommorow.
You guys have noooo idea…every time I call something gets screwd up LOL

I don’t understand your response.
The Catholic church says that Protestants are still Christians…meaning they worship the same God…only with less knowledge. However The Church dose not recognize Jehovahs witness baptisms…and jw’s are often called a cult.

So are JW’s Christian?

To be a Christian one must believe that Jesus is the 2nd Person of the Holy Trinity, meaning that Jesus is God.

It’s my understanding that Jesus is not considered God for the JW’s. See: The God of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

See also: Non-Catholic groups

Once again, in as much as you were worshipping God as Catholics know Him while you were a JW, you were worshipping God.

Oh I understand what you are saying.
As a Jw I did not think Jesus was God…and I did not think The Holy Spirit was God.

There is virtualy no belief that’s simular between Catholic and jw

Hmmm… :hmmm: :knight2: :heaven:
And another thing…I thought we were always in the presence of God…this concept is very new to me.
I must admit…I always wounderd why the bible says “when two or more are gatherd in my name, there I am in there midst”.
???
