God is not great?

Wrong as he is, I like Hitchens’ style – he’s certainly better than the scientist/atheist types who have been bringing books out the last couple years. Besides, as others have said, if he ever gets turned around his zeal and intellect could be put to good use.
 
More and more CH comes across as filled w/ venom. And his passion for visiously attacking believers suggests “he doth protest too much” and is wrestling w/ God. I would love to have dear Malcolm Muggeridge around to ‘spar’ w/ him.
 
Christopher Hitchens was just on Hannity & Colmes. Sean Hannity told him off really well. He said that Christopher Hitchens was acting like a jackass. 😃 Hannity told it like it was.

Calling him a jackass? There’s an intelligent rebuttal of his viewpoint.
 
I like Hitchens.

Of course, I disagree with much of what he says. (and I didn’t know before reading this thread about what he said of St. Kolbe - that’s troubling)

But I agree with a previous poster that there’s is something about his style. Hope he converts. He certainly seems like the kind of person that could get knocked off his horse. And he seems honest enough to make a change if he finds himself blind and on the ground.

I challenged an atheist friend of mine. I said that I would read Hitchens’ new book if he read the Pope’s Jesus of Nazareth. Still waiting for a response from my friend.

In the meantime, the Pope’s new book is next on my reading list. I think that sometime after that I’ll read Hitchens’ book. It’ll be good to know the other side’s arguments better.

And I think the title of his book, God is Not Great, is a reference to radical Islam.

No, that’s not what I meant. He told him off then, Hitchens as acting rude again then he said he was acting like a jackass.

Alot of atheists have had bitter relationships with their father…Paul Vitz writes about this extensively.

If any person has to go ad hominem while debating a point it usually means they are losing.

It was Hitchens who was losing the debate, all he was doing at the end was yelling to get his point across. It was about to go to commercial and Hitchens was yelling so, Hannity said he was acting like a jackass.
