God is the author of pain/suffering - true?

I am a bit disturbed at the moment. God surely was in that house where those 3 girls were captives and sexual slaves, in Cleveland. For 10 years. There must had been lots of prayers. Why didn’t God help them? Was it all for a good purpose ? Was it a necessary pain for some good reason? For whom?
I don’t understand…at all.

We often hear that God “can” bring good out of evil, but i think there’s a rider “for those who trust Him.”

I don’t think this means He brings good out of every evil. I can’t see how the Holocaust for example was used for “Good”, or Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia, or the millions who perished in two World Wars etc. I don’t see how He brings good out of the abortion holocaust which is taking place right under our noses. Those lives are lost for good as far as this world is concerned.

However I think He can bring good out of evil for “those who trust Him.”

So it’s a two way deal.

Yes God knew those three girls were in that house. He knew that very well. But as CS Lewis put it, He lets us do “slowly and blunderingly” what He could do Himself in the “blink of an eye”. So He expects us to bring the perpetrators to justice, and try to find the missing as far as possible, using our own resources. But He might give us a bit more help if we prayed a bit more often. How often do the police ask Him directly for His assistance for example?

In the end though, justice catches up** with all of us**.
