How shall one go about receiving Him? And what is the guarantee that one’s understanding of the passages in the bible that he reads are correct?
By faith you believe and confession is made by your actions.

Born again, we become a new creature, not the one of old, for the old is crucified daily as the new, works to perfect you.

Gods heart is in doing His will, and if that will lies in you, you are one after His own heart.

Jesus has to be born in us in order for Him to start to grow us spiritually.

Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

An interesting note: The number of the chapter and verse are 10.

10 is the number of the perfect law of God.

Those laws are written in our hearts to do them.

  1. How shall one know that God’s will lies in him?
  2. How shall Jesus be born in us?
  3. Who said that 10 is the number of the perfect law of God?
  4. Who wrote the laws in the hearts of man?
  5. If the laws were already written in the hearts of men, why is it that many seem could not read them?

What shall one believe by faith?

What new creature shall you become?

  1. How shall one know that God’s will lies in him?
Just by the your will and desire to live by Gods words.
Those guide lines are in the bible.
  2. How shall Jesus be born in us?
Jesus is born in us by opening up our hearts to receive Him, believe in Him, trust and rely totally on Him for your salvation. Jesus born in you is like as a child that is growing in knowledge of God’s things. By getting educated in His desires, we progress to grow to wards spiritual maturity.
  3. Who said that 10 is the number of the perfect law of God?
No one said that but as one studies the bible, one can see things that are revealed that are hidden.
God loves to bless us when we seek Him out.
  4. Who wrote the laws in the hearts of man?
The laws “The ten Commandments” were written in stone and given to Moses to the Jews.
Written in stone is another way of saying “stony hearts”, meaning obeying the laws without heart.
Jesus came, fulfilled the law and writes them spiritually in our fleshly hearts, meaning our spiritual hearts, to where now we love to do the law, where as before, it was a have to.

To love God is to love His law.
  1. If the laws were already written in the hearts of men, why is it that many seem could not read them?
The laws written in stony hearts is laws not honored because they are to over bearing.
But laws written in the heart, meaning God’s Holy Spirit’s presence as in Jesus residing in our Hearts makes the law easy to comply with, because He is there to help.

Rebirth of our Spirits makes us a child of God, giving us excess to His kingdom yet while we live in the flesh.

What shall one believe by faith?

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

“…thou shalt be saved” is a past tense action once the confession is made by believing in your heart what Jesus came to do,and accept His conditions of salvation.

What new creature shall you become?
The new creature is the rebirth of your dead spirit.
The old dead spirit is the spirit which many consider the “original sin of Adam and Eve”, but in reality, it is knowledge gained that separates us from God resulting in death.

By necessity, our dead spirits must be revived, or reborn from a dead state to a live state, by again becoming sons of God, via the rebirth.

The new creature is in line with the new creation Jesus came to install.
Meaning, that the lusts of the world no longer have power over us and where we can be victorious over them.

You are in the world, but not of this world, but heavenly creatures.

So, it seems salvation is very easy. Just by confessing with the mouth and believing in the heart that God raised Jesus from the dead!

But the Lord said, "Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of my Father in heaven shall enter the kingdom of heaven." Math 7:21

And what is the will of the Father? It is written in Math 17:5, “As he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud said, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear him.

Therefore, it is the will of the Father that we should listen (abide) with the words of His beloved Son.

And His beloved Son said, "And I say to thee, thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

So, the Church that the Son built could not be prevailed even by the gates of hell! That Church therefore continued from the time of Peter throughout history until the present time.

Please tell me, what Church survived that long?

And what does it mean to you to “confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus” and to “believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead”?

What is easy is made very hard by mankind.

Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

I take those words to heart!
But the Lord said, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of my Father in heaven shall enter the kingdom of heaven.” Math 7:21
Agangbern,
you will find allot of verses in the bible that seem to contradict each other, but they don’t, for they are all in harmony with God’s works.

The verse you quoted seems to apply to the wishy-washy group and those whose claims are purely selfish.

That particular verse as are others addressed to the Jewish High priests who claimed that because they were of Abraham, that they deserved to enter heaven.

Jesus flatly stated that that did not make the case, because to be a Jew must be one in heart and not just by blood.

Hence, they call Him Lord because they are of Abraham, but inwardly, they were a den of vipers.

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Had they understood what the will of the Father was, they would have never sacrificed Jesus.

Mat 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

They were purposely blinded by God so that they would not understand, and Jesus just added fuel to the fire that burned within them against Him.

To believe in something is to confess it. Say,you thought that your mothers Thanksgiving meal was the greatest, you’d confess it as being so wouldn’t you?

To confess Jesus is to speak it as a testimony of His being in you, and to declare His goodness.
And what is the will of the Father? It is written in Math 17:5, "As he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear him.”>>>Agangbern
This was the Baptism of Jesus, meaning Jesus was about to burden the sins of the world by being immersed in them.

This then is He who taketh away the sins of the world by being baptized in them.
Therefore, it is the will of the Father that we should listen (abide) with the words of His beloved Son.>>>Agangbern
Absolutely! But they didn’t, so they crucified Him.
And His beloved Son said, “And I say to thee, thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”>>>Agangbern
Peter is not a rock but Jesus is: 1Co 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

Peter’s faith was in that rock, Christ, so that Jesus said, upon my faith, (the rocks faith) I shall build my church.

Now tell me, is your faith built on Jesus’ faith, or on Peters faith?

If Peter recognized Jesus’ faith as from God, then Peter rightly said when asked by Jesus, who am I, Peter properly responded, thou art the Son of God.

Where than Jesus replied, yes, and upon that faith that gave Him that response was Jesus’; for Jesus is our rock and our salvation.

2Sa 22:47 The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.

Rock means something solid, unmovable especially if it is a big rock, and Jesus was unmovable, unchanged and solid as a rock.

Really? It is easy to be crowned with thorns, carry a cross along the road, whipped along the way, nailed on the cross and hanged? And each Christian ought to expect the same!

To Jesus it may be easy! What do you think was the secret why it was easy for Him to bear that sacrifice?
Agangbern,

And surely there are a lot today of what you called “wishy-washy group”. Therefore, Math 7:21 still applies today.

Nope! Math 17:5 is not about the baptism of Jesus. What I highlighted in Math 17:5 is the command: HEAR HIM. That is, listen and abide to what Jesus says. And this command is intended not only to those present in the transfiguration but to all who wish to follow Jesus, including those today whom you called “wishy-washy groups”.
Peter is not a rock but Jesus is: 1Co 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
Yes, there is no question that the rock that followed the Israelites in the desert was Jesus. But that verse you quoted (1Cor 10:4) does not say that Peter is not rock, or that Jesus cannot make Simon into a rock. For as a matter of fact, it was Jesus who made the Apostle Simon into a rock.
Peter’s faith was in that rock, Christ, so that Jesus said, upon my faith, (the rocks faith) I shall build my church.
That’s putting words into the mouth of Jesus! And doing so is not in accordance with ethics.

Really? It is easy to be crowned with thorns, carry a cross along the road, whipped along the way, nailed on the cross and hanged? And each Christian ought to expect the same!>>>agangbern
If He done it for you, would you be willing to do the same for Him?

Now, now agangbern, Christ has already done that for you.

What He has done is crucified the power of death and of the flesh, and has given us that same power via Him.

Tell me, once you have made the decision to believe, trust and rely in Jesus as your Savior, can death hold you any longer?

Can the power of the flesh condemn you from heaven?

These are the things which Christ has made it easy.

He did not say I will make your sufferings easy.

You are going to have to put on your spiritual eyes to see passed some of the things that you’ve been taught which are seen with the physical eyes.
To Jesus it may be easy! What do you think was the secret why it was easy for Him to bear that sacrifice?>>>agangbern
To say that it was easy for Jesus is a gross misstatement.

There is no secret other than who He was was hidden from His persecutors.
And that was designed that way so that Jesus would be offered up as a sacrifice, and the high priests were responsible for sacrifice implementation.

So, if you think Jesus did not feel the pain as you and I would, is to totally misunderstand His suffering.

The point was to defeat the power of the flesh in that so doing, death would be eliminated.

If you can see that, you will have understanding.
And surely there are a lot today of what you called “wishy-washy group”. Therefore, Math 7:21 still applies today.>>>agangbern
As long as there are humans, there will be the potential for corruption.
Nope! Math 17:5 is not about the baptism of Jesus. What I highlighted in Math 17:5 is the command: HEAR HIM. That is, listen and abide to what Jesus says. And this command is intended not only to those present in the transfiguration but to all who wish to follow Jesus, including those today whom you called “wishy-washy groups”.>>>agangbern
I understood what you were trying to tell me.
And that is quite all right in that you were trying to stress the point of obeying Jesus’, and following Him.

But you did not understand my point, nor the reason that verse was stated.
Yes, there is no question that the rock that followed the Israelites in the desert was Jesus. But that verse you quoted (1Cor 10:4) does not say that Peter is not rock, or that Jesus cannot make Simon into a rock. For as a matter of fact, it was Jesus who made the Apostle Simon into a rock.>>>agangbern
The faith that Peter acquired in Jesus was what Jesus was addressing in Peter.

Let me rephrase it: Upon this faith (My faith, Jesus) I will build my church.

That is in harmony with all believers having faith in Jesus as the rock of salvation.

Upon that rock (faith) is what the new creation church is all about of which Peter was an example of it.

Now, a note: In order to fit your theology which is the Catholic theology, Peter must have been as the first Pope.

But to fit the theme of the bible as a whole, Jesus is the rock and all who place their faith upon that rock (Jesus) become members of His Church.

Peace>>>AJ

If He done it for you, would you be willing to do the same for Him?
I have no doubts about my faith! How about you? Would you be willing to be nailed to the cross in defense of your faith?
Tell me, once you have made the decision to believe, trust and rely in Jesus as your Savior, can death hold you any longer?
What kind of death are you referring to? For all his apostles, even they, still experienced death! How about you? Are you sure you will no longer undergo death? Who among your kins have reached the age 150 years old? Open your eyes and look honestly at the realities around you!
But you did not understand my point, nor the reason that verse was stated.
There are three possibilities here:
  1. I did not understand it while you understood it,
  2. You did not understand it while I dunderstood it,and
  3. Both of us did not understand it.
Now, who is the authority to whom we shall refer our case for final determination?
The faith that Peter acquired in Jesus was what Jesus was addressing in Peter.
Your guess in as good as your own guess! Everyone, even the dull and ignorant, can say his opinion as to what Jesus was addressing. But it is only up to that, mere personal opinion. Good for personal consumption.
Let me rephrase it: Upon this faith (My faith, Jesus) I will build my church.
You seem confused! You said, “the faith that Peter acquired in Jesus was what Jesus was addressing”. And now, it is upon the faith of Jesus that the Church was built?

He was not originally named Peter. He was Simon. But Jesus changed it and called him Peter, which means Rock. By that, Jesus made Simon into a Rock just as He too was rock.So that if we would substitute the word “Rock” to its equivalent then the passage would be as clear as this: “Thou art Rock, and upon this rock I will build my Church…”

Anyway, it does not matter to me that you were born against the Church.

Let me bring you back to the question which you have not yet answered: Since the Church that Christ built would not be prevailed even by the gates of hell, therefore the said Church continued through all generations until our present time. Now, which Church survived from the time of the apostles until today?

The church spiritual that has survived is the spirit of Christ in us.
Though the physical church, through many changes, has survived by reason of the spirit of God in the good folk, who have honored God with their truthfulness.

The physical comes in many colors, yet the spirit of God is one.

The spirit of God within us upholds us to where the gates of hell (This worlds lusts) can not prevail.

Blessings, AJ
