Nonsense! Those children will probably turn into neurotics!

“Homosexual love” is neither conjugal love nor can it stay on the level of love of friendship without erotic connotations. Hence, homosexuality undermines the family and social life.

The family is the foundation of society, and marriage is the condition that gives rise to the family. Homosexuality undermines marriage by seeking to usurp its rights: Conjugal relations are only possible between a man and woman.

Likewise, friendship is the mortar of social life and the foundation of social concord. Without friendship, it is impossible to avoid social discord, which opens the gates to chaos and anarchy. Since homosexuality is focused on sexual intercourse, it thereby destroys the possibility of true friendship between people of the same sex, turning friends into objects of desire or competitors in the market of passions. This destroys friendship which makes social life safe and amenable.

By weakening the family and friendship in society, the homosexual offensive destroys the foundation of society and leads it into disintegration and anarchy.

This reality is obfuscated by the homosexual movement’s use of words like “love” and “tolerance”. From “Defending a Higher Law” from the TFP committee on American Issues.

For “neurotic” children, they are the most well behaved and top of their class children I have known. The children attend private school where their “family”(out of deference to you of course) situation is accepted.

Your predudice is showing…you have no basis whatsoever to make such a value judgement on two children…or on the two women you do not know in any way shape or form…but your beliefs in the matter of course is to be expected…you can believe nothing less of course.

I do not know that is clear. I mean from what I read in this thread subjective sincerity is enough to determine what is good or evil.

What if the spouse consents to the other commiting adultery? Would that be ok?

Does consent make something good and helpful to society?
Is that the criteria we are not using to determine if an action should be permissible? If so, then I would argue that promoting healthy committed relationships does more good for society than putting up obstacles to them.

Dawn Stefanowicz and others like her would disagree with your asseration that having homosexual “parents” causes no harm. Visit her website to hear her story, and others. Bottom line is that kids need a mother AND a father – not two mothers or two fathers.

They have no right to be recognized as a family unit because same sex “marriage” is not marriage!

“As a “basic human right”, the right to marriage stems from human nature, and thus its existence precedes both Church and State. Nevertheless, that same human nature which gives rise to this “basic human right” also requires that marriage be the union of man and woman since the cooperation of both is recquired in accomplishing the **primary purpose of marriage, which is the procreation and education of children. **The civil “marriage” of two individuals of the same sex is not based on human nature. Therefore, it is not marriage, so there is no “basic human right” to same-sex marriage.” From “Defending a Higher Law” by the TFP Committee on American Issues

There is no requirement in any state that I am aware of which conditions marriage on a promise to procreate or to even keep my any children, let alone educate them. I would argue that marriage promotes a stable family unit, which ultimately benefits society because families rely less on gov’t and tend to take care of each other and support each other, allowing them to contribute to society. I would argue that promoting marriage among homosexuals would have similar benefits

You can’t put the genie back in the bottle. the definition of family has radically changed. It is time to change the definition of marriage to include same sex unions.

I’m sure if you try hard enough, you can find evidence to the contrary as we can find that having two parents of opposite sex can also cause severe harm and be detrimental to the child.

Again, prejudice is showing…of course you cannot have these two professional women and their children well adjusted…I understand that…I really do. But again, you do not know these women, nor do you know these children nor do you have any “inside/spiritual” knowledge concerning them as people…but I do understand, they must be “demonized” and belittled…one cannot have gay parents doiing a good job raising well adjusted children…it flies in the face of religious belief…again…I do understand your belief in the matter.

Why does homosexuality make friendship impossible? Do you believe friendship to be impossible between heterosexual men and women? I have many women friends, our heterosexuality has not interfered with those friendships. Or is homosexual attraction different in some way?

The bolded portion of your post flies in the face of, oh, THE ENTIRETY OF HUMAN HISTORY.

I’m not “demonizing” anyone. I’m sure there are many children of homosexuals who appear to be well-adjusted young people. But their “parents” have done them a grave disservice, which will forever affect how they relate to the same gender as well as the opposite gender, their own ability to parent, etc.

Rather than dismiss the stories of Stefanowicz and others offhand, perhaps you should actually visit her website, read the testimonies there, and look at some of the statistics she’s complied about the children of homosexual parents, rather than relying on the “personal witness” you have of a single lesbian couple and their children.

Anecdotal “evidence” can be compiled from both sides of the debate…but it proves nothing conclusive. Studies by psychologists and sociologists state that there is no evidence that same sex parental families causes any harm to children in those “families” that cannot be seen in the broader opposite sex parental families other than the abuse those children sometimes receives from peers whose parents have a bias against gay people…IF a religious bias dictates ones “anecdotal evidence” as proof, equal “anecdotal evidence” can be provided for an alternative view.

Fact, my “anecdotal evidence” from first hand experience in the Meeting I attend doesn’t support the “anecdotal evidence” your website, which is based on religious bias, presents.

God loves everyone, and will accept you as you are. He loves us ALL.

There was a comment about how Catholics claim to love gays, but hate them being gay. This is completely contradictory. You cannot accept homosexuality if you hate it.

Remember that homosexuals are regular people, like you and me! You should never judge people on their race, religion, sex, or sexual preferences, etc. I have seen homosexuality being bashed in Catholic Churches way to often to believe that most Catholics are accepting of gay/lesbian people.

I have noticed an awful, awful lot of judging coming from the CC. So judgemental, it is hard to see the love that is there in the CC, though I know love is there somewhere. Don’t the priests say that Jesus came to teach us love, and not judging?

If someone truly loves someone else, no matter what the gender, then no one has the right to take it away from them. No one. Love is love…who is anyone to say that you cannot love another human being?

I was really confused about the way people who practice homosexual lifestyles seemed to find an identity through their same sex attractions.

But, I’ve met more people and worked at a few places where I have now met a broader spectrum of people…different ages, races, religions, etc.

One thing I noticed is that anyone who practiced one of the major disordered or “sinful” lifestyles identified themselves by their own sin. It was almost as if they became enslaved by it, known by it, lived by it, unable to find their true personhood and dignity.

Those who are struggling with same-sex attraction talk about how they are different, special or all alone in the world, but that is far from the truth. We all have a cross to bear and a weakness to give into. We all feel attracted to something that puts our physical, mental or spiritual health at risk.

I hear a lot of people crying out that the Church is persecuting only them. Every group with a special sin claims that the Church only hates them, but they turn a blind eye to the next group crying about the Church saying the same thing. Those who want to use their birth control. Those who want to divorce and remarry. Those who want to practice in the occult. Those who want premarital sex and cohabitation. On and on and on.

The Church seems completely fair. Wrong is wrong no matter who you are, what color you are, what kind of sex you like, where you live, how much money you make, what political party you vote for and more. It doesn’t matter if you want to marry a dog, three women or an alien.

I won’t bring the occult, divorce, and the other things you said, because I do not want to get off topic. That being said…

Why is a homosexual lifestyle wrong? You BELIEVE it is wrong. But what is so horribly evil about it? Why do you consider homosexual people bad people?

The truth is that they aren’t. One of my good friends is homosexual. I would have never guessed. This made me realize that gays/lesbians are normal people, and they deserve respect.

Love your enemies. If you affront gays/lesbians, you need to meet a few of the normal ones and you will find that they are no different from us.

I find your entire post offensive to anyone who is struggling with same sex attraction. Please show some respect for people, no matter what their struggle is in life.

You use words such as “they” and “us.” Who is actually calling someone bad? Who is actually discriminatory? Why do you separate yourself from others by labeling, name calling and categorizing?

People who have same sex attractions are not my enemies. But your post definitely gives you away.

Ok, find somewhere on this thread that anyone said gays were bad people. Keep in mind most of us consider homosexual acts as a sin, but not the person who commits them a “bad” person… I don’t think you’ll find anything.

Also, you might come across a group of Catholics who are against gays, but they do not make up the majority of Catholics. Plus, if that really is how they feel, they’re not acting in accordance with Church law and doctrine. I think a lot of your vies of Catholics depend upon the area in which you live.

The gay community is not our enemy. The sin they are actively engaged is. Not the same thing. And who are you to say that I don’t love them? How do you know how I feel??? What gives you the right to say that because I don’t agree with their acts that therefore I hate the person??? It doesn’t make sense. As I’ve posted before, I have several gay friends whom I love dearly. One who I might even say is a best friend even though we’ve drifted apart over the years… But I wouldn’t go to her wedding if she ever married her girlfriend.

I think your bias shows here. you think everyone against the lifestyle is automatically against the person. Once and for all, they are NOT the same thing and to suggest otherwise is ignorant.

There was a comment about how Catholics claim to love gays, but hate them being gay. This is completely contradictory. You cannot accept homosexuality if you hate it.
And why should we accept homosexuality? That would mean we would ALSO have to accept things like adultery, pedophilia, and other sins.

If a pedophile accused you of “hating” him because you are against pedophilia, would you reconsider and say, “Oh, you’re right, I guess I should accept pedophilia”?
Remember that homosexuals are regular people, like you and me! You should never judge people on their race, religion, sex, or sexual preferences, etc.
The Catholic Church agrees with you here, if what you mean is that no one should be unjustly discriminated against due to race, sexual orientation, etc.
I have seen homosexuality being bashed in Catholic Churches way to often to believe that most Catholics are accepting of gay/lesbian people.
You don’t really get the concept of “hate the sin, love the sinner,” do you?
I have noticed an awful, awful lot of judging coming from the CC. So judgemental, it is hard to see the love that is there in the CC, though I know love is there somewhere. Don’t the priests say that Jesus came to teach us love, and not judging?
Boy, you’re sounding awfully judgmental of the CC here. Isn’t that a sin?
If someone truly loves someone else, no matter what the gender, then no one has the right to take it away from them. No one. Love is love…who is anyone to say that you cannot love another human being?
In the same vein, who are you to say that a 35-year-old man can’t “love” a 11-year-old child, or his pet Doberman, or his biological sister? Do you support those relationships as well?

And why should we accept homosexuality? That would mean we would ALSO have to accept things like adultery, pedophilia, and other sins.

If a pedophile accused you of “hating” him because you are against pedophilia, would you reconsider and say, “Oh, you’re right, I guess I should accept pedophilia”?
Exactly! If “pleasure” can justify homosexual behaviour, it can also justify other forms of deviant behaviour as pederasty, ephebophilia, gerontophilia, necrophilia, sadism, masochism, bestiality and others.

It is not God’s criteria but it seems promoted by some here.
If so, then I would argue that promoting healthy committed relationships does more good for society than putting up obstacles to them.
It goes back to how we define good, evil, commited, and health.

Nothing that is against nature can bear good fruit! You’ve been thoroughly indoctrinated by the advocates for homosexuality. You sound a lot like the dissident nun, Sr. Chittister who loves to portray homosexual unions as perfect while demeaning heterosexual unions. What you’re stating is a myth, the reality is that the homosexual lifestyle is full of violence, infidelity and trauma with higher alcohol and drug abuse not to mention sexually transmitted diseases.

Um, why would we have to?

I dont get the connection.
