That won’t stop St Michael kicking the devil’s butt and all the demons, down into hell.

Reject God, go to hell.

I pity satan and everybody that goes to hell. I wish they could be saved.
Sympathy for the Devil?

If Satan has any speck of good in him left or any possible hope of redemption ever, then God would love that little speck of good, as God can’t love what is evil.

Whether Satan has this in him or not is something only God knows.

If God didn’t love Satan he wouldn’t sustain his being in existence. Satan would cease to exist. God sustains us in existence because of his love. it is irrelevant whether or not we go to hell because God’s love is not conditional, its Eternal and never changes.

I can’t picture God loving Satan. I picture God using him, just as he used water to wipe out the earth in Genesis.

I understand why you would think that, but its not consistent with God’s nature. Yes God does use evil against itself.

However, God’s nature is love. God doesn’t stop loving someone becuase that would require a change in his nature. God loves everybody in hell. His nature doesn’t change, his love is not conditional.

I won’t go so far as to claim it is God’s love that maintain Satan continuing existence. God’s Will perhaps to allow us to have free choice between the 2 of them. If there is only 1, not much of a choice isn’t it? If there is no choice, then free will is not made available to exercise. For e.g. you can choose any color as long as it is white.

God’s will is identical to his love.

God loves, but He does not love everything. He does not love sin.

Proverbs 6:16-19
There are six things that the Lord hates,
seven that are an abomination to him:
haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
and hands that shed innocent blood,
a heart that devises wicked plans,
feet that hurry to run to evil,
a lying witness who testifies falsely,
and one who sows discord in a family.

Malachi 1:1-3
This is a divine revelation. The Lord spoke his word to Israel through Malachi.
“I loved you,” says the Lord. “But you ask, ‘How did you love us?’
“Wasn’t Esau Jacob’s brother?” declares the Lord. “I loved Jacob, but Esau I hated. I turned his mountains into a wasteland and left his inheritance to the jackals in the desert."

Not identically so. God’s Will refer to his Purpose. God’s love refer to his attributes.
God’s will is identical to his nature. God’s will is love and it never changes.

Not one creature will ever cease to exist. That’s not Catholic teaching.

Because God loves them eternally and unconditionally.
Doesn’t mean you won’t end up in hell if you reject God.

God did wipe everyone besides Noah et al out. Then there was Sodom and Gomorrah.

Moses offended God and never entered the promised land.

Remember that

Can’t we just say Satan serves a purpose to God’s plan?
