God parents gift?

Our son is getting baptized in about 3 months- shortly after his due date. Is it typical to buy a present for the God parents? If so, any ideas? Thank you.
 
Hi. Congratulations first of all.

I would say a small gift would show appreciation for the important role they would have in the child’s life. Anything from a necklace or a cup with ‘Godparent’ engraved? If you google ‘Godparent gifts Catholic’ there are a lot of different ideas.
