I gave Scripture to show that you were wrong in your previous post, you give oppinion.
RESPONSE:

I see. You are proving scripture with more scripture. It’s called circular reasoning and is considered flawed logic.

“My ways are not your ways neither are my thoughts your thoughts” Trying to figure out the Bible for your self ends up in circular reasoning because God’s ways are not your ways. God speaks to us and leads us through His scriptures. That is good enough for me brother 🙂 It says in the Bible to “Die Daily to your self” God scriptures need to lead you in everything you do or its like the “blind leading the blind” a flawed way of living.

We are dealing with this very issue of praying with scriptures in our adult ed class at our parish. It is our series called Intimacy With God. We make podcasts and post them at htp://yorked.podomatic.com.

I was studying the Gospel of Matthew today when I landed on this verse. Matthew 1:21-And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. I pondered on it for a while. We are God’s people. In this verse is used by protestents as a confirmation that Jesus is the only method of the forgiveness of sins, which I and every Catholic should believe as well. It is also talking about the Jews, but we are God’s people too, am I not correct. We sin. God came to save his people (Those who believe on the Trinity and his Death Burial and Resurection) from there sins. This refrutes the statement that “once saved always saved as well” (I posted my Judas example earlier) Because he came to save US from OUR sins. I also read further along and found myself in Matthew 3:10. It says "And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire." To prove our love to God, we must continually produce Good fruit. This is a blessing and a warning. If we continue to give forth good fruit we will live and God will be our maintainer (Salvation) but if we decide not to live for him and bring forth bad fruit or no fruit at all, then God will cast us into the fire. This proves that the blood of Christ will be evident in our lives only if we live for God first by accepting his blood atonement for our sins and never rejecting it. Thank God that Christ gave his body on the Cross! Thank God for continually giving us his Body and Blood to remind us of our Faith (Eucharist). My Faith Gets reassured every day! I thought I would post this, It was interesting and a blessing to me. God bless the Faithful!
A slight jog to the right, or left for this thread, which ever you prefer, but just going on the title alone “God revealing something to me from studying his scripture.” Isn’t it just uplifting to feel and recognize the graces God bestows on us from time to time. What a wonderful way to have God touch us by being immersed in his word. Good for you.
