God shows himself through beauty, beauty in mathematics, music and science

I see that other threads have asked where do physical laws come from. Disregarding for the moment whether physical laws exist as such (see Bas van Fraassen, “Laws and Symmetry”), it seems clear that God has given us certain faculties to appreciate His creation and thereby to love Him–music, the Gregorian Chant; reason, to understand the beauty of his creation in all its subtlety.
I’ve discussed this (other than the music bit) in my blog, “Top Down to Jesus”… see, if you wish:

St. Augustine put it best, I think:
“Now, may our God be our hope. He Who made all things is better than all things. He Who made all beautiful things is more beautiful than all of them. …Learn to love the Creator in His creature and the Maker in what He has made.“(St.Augustine of Hippo, Commentary on Psalm 39)."

Yes, Yes! My favorite proof. In a purely material universe that faculty of appreciation would be completely superfulous. Why oh why would it exist in a purely material universe? Therefore, since it does exist, God exists. 👍👍👍

The “Golden Ratio” can be constructed (see link in OP) bu constructing squares/rectangles based on the Fibonacci (sp?) sequence, 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,…do a google or bing search “Fibonacci sequence golden mean image” and you’ll see lots of images, like the nautilus shell.
 
👍 Yes, His Creation and classical music are where I most tangibly “feel” Him (but also in creative activity).
 
My old College Mathematics professor even argues this as well. 🙂
