My five year old daughter asked me the other day. If God made us…then who made God? I really didn’t know what to say. What would your answer be?
 
An idea might be get a good children’s Chatachism… like the Baltimore… They’ve got all the answers to these little questions young minds come up with 🙂

What my DM taught me was :

God is the Supreme Being Who made all things from nothing.
God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-loveing.
God always was, is, and always will be.
God was so powerful, that He wasn’t “made” by anyone… He just always was… He was what started everything else…
And because He is a God of Love, He wanted to share all His happiness with others, so He created the angels, then the earth and man.
And do tell her also that some things about God are mysteries… we can’t understand them, because we’re not God… But we know we must believe them because God told us that they are the truth, and God cannot lie.

I second the previous post.

And yes, you have to emphasize that this is a mystery we can’t understand. God is so special and wonderful that even grownups can’t understand everything about Him. But we still believe those things because God told us so.
