What do children call their godparents when they are not a relative? Mr & Mrs XX seems woefully impersonal, but that is what all the siblings call us. Any ideas? I’m trying to order an item with an inscription.
I was thinking of something like: " On your Baptism Day, Love your godparents."

Any (name removed by moderator)ut? ideas?
Thanks!

There isn’t a rule. It depends on what the parents and godparents agree on. Children can even learn to refer to certain adults intimately in one setting and more formally in other settings. They’re pretty bright, that way.

hmmm…my goddaughter is not old enough to speak yet, but her brother who is 3 calls me by my first name. I’m sure she will do the same.

I call my godparents Auntie and Uncle even though I’m not related to them.

In the cajun French dictionary/culture, the word for Godmother is nannan and then we use the “nickname” nanny – hence my user name 😃

Thank you for your help… I was really trying to word an inscription, but didn’t know how to sign our names. The older siblings all refer to us as Mr & Mrs and I am sure we’ll figure something out naturally with the little baby. I am not much of a creative sort, so I was hoping to get some ideas of how to sign our names.

Thanks to all who replied!
