Can you have your own child be a godparent to a younger brother or sister?
We are running out of godparent options and frankly, not all our choices have panned out. We’ve followed the rules, tried to make a good decision about godparents, and yet, many of our choices have been less than spectacular a few years down the road. What we thought were good choices have turned out bad.
That said, we have a new little one due in a couple of weeks and we’re thinking of asking our oldest to be godparent. We have a SIL (confirmed and practicing Catholic) in mind for the godmother and we’re toying with the idea of asking our 15 yo to be the godfather. Since, officially speaking, only one godparent HAS to be confrimed and practicing, would it be ok to aks our son?
What do you think??
