Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum. I heard that if I am a godparent to one of my friends offspring then my friend cannot be my son’s godparent, is this true?

no, presuming both of you are otherwise eligible to be godparents (or confirmation sponsors–fully initiated Catholics living in conformity with Catholic morality and laws of the Church, of canonical age) you can be the godparent for your friend’s child and vice versa. A parent cannot be the godparent for his own child.

Well not as bad as I thought it would be! As I read the title, I’m thinking "Ok this is RCIA time what do we have now some loony allowing two un-Baptized people to be each others Godparent, by simultaneously Baptizing them?

Your question was much eaiser, of course you can be each others childrens Godparent as Puzzleannie noted.
