Godparents problem

i will be welcomed into the church early next year and i have a problem of sorts.

my children will need to be baptized but i dont know any practicing catholics. my wifes family has catholics but they live far away and arent practicing/living in sin. i dont know any people that well from church to ask either. what do i do?

ask the person who is conducting the prebaptismal classes for parents and godparents, or the priest or deacon who will be baptizing, for a referral to a parishioner who can stand up for your child as godparent. You may also find there are people attending the class itself you know and trust.
