Gods Forgivness and Mercy

Good Evening Gods people, I have a question about Gods way of showing us the way to holiness. When we sin, or do something that God doesn’t like, does God ever effect our personal belongings? I know that God will show us the things that are leading us to sin. I am just wondering will God destroy our belongings if we sin? Or will he simply show us the things that lead us into sin. Remember that all sin has temporal punishment even after eternal punishment for them has been forgiven. Can God take away something you own if you sin? Yes, He can, especially if it has something to do with the sin. It happened many times in the Bible, and it has happened to me before.
