OK, so if God has free will, how does he also have omniscience? Does he know what he will choose ahead of time? But then he’s not really choosing, is he… hmm
Well said! You could have added omnipotence to the lot. God can only do what he knows he will do. He has no choice in the matter, therefore he has no free will.

I have no clue if I am close to being right. In my humble opinion, free will in a pure spirit means that God is not restricted by time and space as we are.

Good question! It doesn’t make sense to ask whether God will choose ahead of time because “In Him we live, move and have our being”. In other words God encompasses time, space and everything else.
This may seem confusing but we have to remember we presumptuously use human words to attempt to describe the Creator of all that exists. We cannot hope to explain His nature fully. It will always be a mystery how He exists but one thing is certain. Love is the most powerful form of creative energy and it can give us the greatest joy of which we are capable.
When discussing free will and the omniscience of God it is important to remember that phrases like “ahead of time” are based on a foundation of time. After this life there is no more yesterday, today, tomorrow, next week, 5 years from now. Time is a solely temporal attribute and thus does not exist in eternity.
