God's love hell

Does God love for the angels and humans that are in Hell , does His love cease when one is comdemned to Hell?
 
It is my understanding that God’s love does not cease, but that it is the choice {the ultimate folly in human ‘free will’] of those who are damned to cut themselves off from it. The same goes for the fallen Angels.

God’s love is constant and powerful, but does not extend to forcing itself upon ‘free will’. We have to freely accept and acknowledge God into our hearts, minds and souls.

God’s love cease in hell. It is too late.
 
I hope Satan has got some plans for expansion in hand down in Hades. Where is he going to put us all? I suppose that’s where the fires come into it. You can always burn stuff to make space, rather like a spring clear-out at home…

The contradiction mainly arises from the point that Hell is an evil place. The main question is then how a perfect good being could create an evil place?

Is hell an evil place or is hell a placed filled with beings who have chosen to be evil or chosen to avoid holiness.?

I thought the Catholic concept of “hell” didn’t include fire. That it was only complete separation from God.

I think so many of the arguments of this kind are weak. ‘God would do this or wouldn’t do that…’ Typically they are based on God’s perfect goodness or perfect love. God is simple so we cannot understand how divine ‘attributes’ like love, mercy and justice operate. In us one moment we are kind the next moment not so much. God is love. God is truth and justice. Moreover, he is perfect love, truth and justice. How can we put ourselves in the position of saying ’ God would not do this’?

The weakness of these types of arguments should be compared to the certain truths of Revelation. God has told us that there is Heaven and Hell. Case closed really.

A final point: Hell is not an evil place. It is the only possible tragedy for us. For those who are damned. But the reality of Hell is not evil.

Hell is different from heaven. Hell and heaven are infinite, whether you like to call them a place or universe etc. The idea behind these literal places are clear to everyone. Hell is the place of suffering and heaven is the place of joy. Joy is good and suffering is bad. Who causes joy in heave? God. How? By giving first love, … Who causes evil/pain/suffering in hell? You tell me who. How? You tell me how.

God only gives love.

All beings can accept love or reject love. All beings can accept or reject God.

Isaiah 49:14-15
But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me; my Lord has forgotten me.” Can a mother forget her infant, be without tenderness for the child of her womb? Even should she forget, I will never forget you.

God does not forget His creation nor stop loving His creation.

To die in mortal sin without repenting and accepting God’s merciful love means remaining separated from him for ever by our own free choice. This state of definitive self-exclusion from communion with God and the blessed is called “hell.”

We separate ourselves from God. God’s essence is love…he does not change. He desires all to be with him for eternity but he gives us the choice to do so through our free will. We can reject his love. When we reject him, we spend eternity in a place without his presence. This is hell.
 
On the west coast (or with Cox TV’s version of EWTN) THIS subject is being discussed on
a program called “What Every Catholic Needs To Know” this episode: Hell.

Just saw Tim Staples and Barbara Mc Guigan. Who were both, back in the day, guest speakers at the Young Adult Group I was a board member and President of back in the '90s. 🙂 :yeah_me: < lapsed into pride in my strange interlude there. :rolleyes:

One vignette " … the Church has canonized countless saints … but it never teaches that any single person by name is in hell." It goes on to affirm that there IS a hell, but that no one knows what mercies might be asked of, and received, from God by a dying soul at the moment of death.

Particular and final judgement is taught of. Christ will judge everyone.

Beautifully done program, includes salvation in its consideration of Hell - as I thought was proper. We should keep salvation in mind as we participate in this thread too, for balance.
After all, God desires that no one should perish but that all should come to everlasting life.

But Jesus teaches and warns people about hell again and again. And of course, it is what
His sacrifice saves us … FROM.
