I’m reading a intresting book titled “The Sword of The Prophet.” By Robert Goldston and reading this specific section got me wondering all together about Miracles God gives humans.

It talks about King Abraha; a Christian king who under Byzantine orders planned to destroy Mecca’s Kaaba (The cubic black stone in the center of Mecca). The leader of the city Abdul Muttablib went to the Kaaba as the people of Mecca evacuated the city; he prayed to appoligze for his inability to protect the Kaaba and begged God (which wasn’t God in the sense of Yaweh or Allah but al-Rahman ‘the sun’) to protect the house of worship.

Anyways afterwards a emense plague broke out in King Abraha’s camp which caused his entire army to break the siege. He died of the plague as well.

This is an example to the question I wish to ask. In history and to the present; does God answer the prayers of those who do not follow the truth? If not what does that make of ‘Miracles’ that may be claimed by other faiths other than the Catholic Church?

That didn’t happen according to Quran (105), where Allah sent against them swarms of flying birds to strike them with stones of baked clay from Hell.

However, let us investigate that story more to know if it was true or not:

Firstly, the whole story is about how Allah defeated King Abraha & his army (aka Christian army) through birds carrying stones (E), Quran & Muslims claim that Allah protected his house through that act, but there is another story (after Muhammed days) where one Arabic tribe attacked Mecca, killed many people there, and stole the black stone for around 20 years, so if the companions of the elephant story is true, then why Allah didn’t protect his house in that second attack?, here is the full story:

“The Qarmatians choked up the sacred spring of Zamzam, the door of the Kaba was broken open, the veil covering the Kaba was torn down, and the sacred Black Stone was removed from the Kaba and taken to their headquarters at Hajar.” (E)

“Under Abu Tahir Al-Jannabi they came close to raiding Baghdad in 927 and sacked Mecca and Medina in 930. The assault on Islam’s holiest sites saw the Qarmatians desecrate the Well of Zamzam with corpses of Hajj pilgrims and take the Black Stone from Mecca to Al-Hasa. Holding the Black Stone to ransom they forced the Abbasids to pay a huge sum for its return in 952.” (E)

Secondly, the Umayyad (Muslims) also destroyed the walls of Kaaba in 73H. (A)

Thirdly, in year 1040H Ottomans had to rebuild Kabba because of the floods which covered Makkah. (A)

Fourthly, in year 1368H/1941G Makkah sank in water as seen in the pictures below:

Who cares about such stories anyway. The black stone is just a meterorite.

Though I must admit it is a intresting building.

Anyways the quote I made was simply an example; If I have questions directly on Islam I will turn to the ‘non-catholic’ forum.

below is was what my question was

**What do Catholics believe about other faiths claiming to have miracles done by their own diety. I cannot make any other historical examples but if a person needed a miracle and they were not Catholic or even Christian lets say, what would it mean should they have their prayer answered. Does God answer the prayers of those who don’t believe out of love of his creations? **
