Should have specified that there is NO “Mandate” for more “Eastern Orthodoxiation” in the Maronite Church. But there are People “Sympathetic” to more Eastern Influence, I can assure you of that.
And that’s the problem. We have out own traditions, and they are most certainly not Byzantine. An import of Byzantine influence we do not need. As I said earlier, that is just as tasteless to those of us who care as is latinization.
I agree that I suppose MOST Maronites oppose that. 🤷
For the record, this one most certainly opposes the unending and ever-worsening Novus Ordo-inspired neo-latinization, as well as Byzantinization. Thankfully, the Byzantinization trend is not seriously epidemic. Frankly, I wish that most Maronites would raise their voices and oppose the Novus Ordo-inspired neo-latinizations. What we need is a good dose of Syriacization, but that, as they say, ain’t ahappenin’ anytime soon.

If there was one in my area I would definitely check it out (the Coptic liturgy) . .

Do the Copts receive CITH? I read somewhere that they did but can’t find it in the youtube video of an entire Coptic Liturgy. If someone watched it, can they point out where in the video to find it?

I’ve been to St. Mary’s in Los Angeles. It was an interesting experience.
All in Arabic, and all chanted which was good. There were a few things that seemed borrowed from the novus ordo including the sign of peace.

The pastor also seemed a bit gruff… = /

All in all, it was a wonderful learning experience and the church was surprisingly filled. I want to attend a coptic orthodox liturgy though to see what differences I can spot in the catholic one.

If you can make it all the way here, there’s a Coptic Orthodox parish in my area. 😃
