Going to a dangerous country tomorrow, need prayers

So, I signed up to go to Guatemala for a week to do volunteer work with a charity group and I am flying tomorrow. First, my mom told me that I would be on the flight with someone else from the group, but that got screwed up and now I am flying by myself when I’ve never done that before. Then, the people from the group who said would pick me up at the airport to take me to the hotel said that they can’t and will be sending hotel staff to get me. I emailed them saying I am not getting into a car with people I have never seen before in a dangerous country.

So, this whole week I have barely slept and people at home and the place I volunteer at have noticed I look like someone about to be executed. These people who promised me they will pick me up still have not emailed me back and I just got back from Confession in case I get killed by drug cartels. Pray I get back home safely.

I’m very sorry that plans for your trip have not worked out so far as hoped.

Praying that God and His Holy Angels and Saints will watch over you and comfort and protect you, guide you, and keep you safe. Amen.

I am praying for you🙏🏻 You are in His hands my dear . Once I had fear as you have and it is the one time I’ve clearly heard Him speak to me- He said " I can’t work through your fear , only your faith." I am sure He would tell you the same.

That is quite lovely. So very true! Fear does not come from God. Let go and Trust in Him.

I am praying for you as well. Guatemala is a beautiful country full of terrific people. I am sure you will have a wonderful trip

You know these people and I don’t, so keep that in mind when you read my question.

Do you trust them?
They said you would travel in company. Now it turns out you must travel alone.
They said they would pick you up at the airport. Now they say they can’t and it has to be strangers who do so.
You said in your post that other people describe you as looking like you were about to be executed.
You told them you won’t let yourself be picked up by strangers. They haven’t replied.

I think you really need to ask yourself:*** do ***you trust them?

At minimum I advise that you should not get on that plane at all unless you get a promise from them that yes, someone you know will be there at the airport.
