Going to heaven and admitting that we are sinners

According to Catholic teaching, is the following sentence correct?
“If you want to go to heaven, then you must first admit that you are a sinner.”
Please answer with either “Yes” or “No” followed by an explanation which is in line with Catholic teaching. No personal opinions, please. Thank you.

CCC 1847: …To receive his (God’s) mercy, we must admit our faults. “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

If we do not admit to sin, we are lying and will not receive God’s mercy and forgiveness, so we won’t be able to go to Heaven, since we need to be perfect to go there.

“Lord have mercy on me a sinner.”

We do not earn heaven, it is a gift, a mercy.
The first step to seeking mercy is admitting we need it.
The second step is putting that need/request into lived practise not mere words and feelings, giving it reality.

The third step is up to God - his Son tells us he always gives mercy to those who truly ask.

We can’t have God’s forgiveness if we refuse to admit we need it.
Salvation is the free gift of God. But a gift can be accepted or rejected. If we wish to accept the gift we must admit we need it.
