But catholics are not prohibited at this time for making a pilgrimage to Medjugorije.
Technically correct, but Catholics are forbidden from attending any Medjugorije event where the supposed apparitions are assumed to be true or taken for granted… it’s a fine line… be careful.

My travel advice is to pick somewhere else to go 😉

A lady from my parish is originally from Bosnia. She went just before war started. Her family was displaced unfortunately but have received help to rebuild.

She brought back photos of a charming little town, a beautiful big church and stories of the warmth of the citizens.

Bring good walking shoes, it is quite a hike up the mountain to the huge cross. Blessings to you for a peaceful, prayerful journey.

Hi Unnamed. That is from 2013. Recently this year (or the end of 2017) The faithful were given permission by the Holy see to go to Medjugorje and recently parishes can now take pilgrimages there hosted by priests. Also the Vatican sent an official there recently to oversee the pastoral CARE of pilgrims. Also, the first 7 apparitions HAVE also been recently approved. However apparitions after the first seven have not been approved. Based on everything above it’s a spiritually safe place to visit. Thank you.

I am still going as I know many who have fallen deeper in love with the Catholic faith and the Mass after going (even athiests!). Thank you.

I’m sure it is! It’s in my list too.
I know a few people who have received many graces from going to Medjugorje and have grown deeper in love with thier Catholic faith and the Mass. I think I will still go. Thanks.

I hope it goes well for you… hope your faith is strengthened and that you deepen your knowledge of the Catholic religion

Could you please provide a source for the first seven apparitions being approved?

The pope sent an emissary there to care for the spiritual needs of the people and the pilgrims… Just last month!!! It is partly approved, the first years. Can’t approve the later years because they are still going on…

ummm. never heard if that. I know that some people need exorcism on the spot because the atmosphere is so holy that the demons attached to them throw them into convulsions and hiasing.
