When I recommend extra care in not saying Amen for those who are attending the Extraordinary Form for the first time, I do it simply out of reverence for the Holy Eucharist - the priest expects you - like everyone - to receive the host after the blessing, not to open and close your mouth suddenly, risking the Most Sacred Body of Christ to fall on the floor - even though in the EF we do still have such things as communion plates held by the altar servers under the chin of the kneeling communicant, a precaution worthy of much praise.
Yes, in most parishes a server holds a paten under the chin of the communicant.

if you have a wife tell her about veiling in a way that wont offend her
I find this sentiment interesting, since in a post on another thread you say you are a “freshman at a Catholic high school” .
Do you tell your mother to veil her head?

Oh no! Not another veiling thread 😃 I know, you are just responding to her post, so hopefully she’ll read this from our moderator if she (or anyone else) feels the need to start a veiling thread: forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?p=9687433&highlight=veiling#post9687433

or this one from a few days after that thread was closed:

(conclusion)
Then again, it’s not a “Church issue”. The Church is not of the world, but is in the world. And the same departure from reverence is found in the secular world. And we also have “traditionalists” and “modernists” in the secular world, along with people who don’t understand what’s going on and simply follow the crowd 🤷 In the end, reverence springs forth from love, love for God, love for the Church, love for the liturgy.

Thank you for your advice so far! It all seems a little overwhelming! I don’t have anybody to go with, but then again I always go to Mass alone, so I have no help during the Mass. argh.
Maybe someone will help you…I usually notice the people around me and if someone seems new, help them find their place.

well i am reporting back. I went to the Mass in the EF, and it was a High Mass!!! It was said by Augustinian Canons and it was the most amazing, and beautiful thing i have ever witnessed!!! I am going back next week, and the week after that, etc!
Good!!! It is beautiful!

Each time you go, you will get more and more out of it. There are so many levels to the EF that it takes many times to really grasp it.
